Dreamer Dormitory ( Hanoi Dreamer Hostel ) — Hotel in Hà Nội

Worth a read. We spent three nights in this hostel. We arrived early and check in was smooth, however we were expecting our rooms to be air conditioned for the duration of our stay, yet we found we had to request for the air conditioning to be turned on and a hostel worker had to do this for us. We also found there are cameras placed in our rooms, for security this is understandable, but there is very limited privacy in these rooms because of this. We had trouble entering the hostel after being out during the day, as the doors were locked frequently and it took a few tries to get in contact with staff to let us in. We then found that on our first night after falling asleep with the air conditioning on as it is very hot here, a hostel worker came into our room in the early hours of the morning unannounced and turned off the air con. This was very uncomfortable for us as we are a group of four girls. We then had to request in the middle of the night for the air conditioning to be turned back on which was very strange. The next day the controller for the air con had been left in our room, but we spent the day out and arrived home at around midnight. We came up to our room and found our beds and curtains were not as we left them, items moved and curtains left open. This made us extremely uncomfortable, as we understand staff can have access to the rooms, but shouldn’t be touching or moving people’s belongings. we spoke to hostel staff and requested footage from the camera in our room as we felt violated, but we were left with finally being given a key for our room. We feel this should’ve happened in the first place. After all of this trouble, the lock to our room was broken and we were left for hours waiting for it to be repaired, and didn’t have any access to our belongings...

I stayed in this hostel with my friends for about 1 month. Honestly, it was the best hostel in a low budget. Clean AC room, very quiet environment. We were on the fourth floor. As a result, there was a very big balcony next to our room. We used to chat all night long. As the kitchen is on the second floor and has all the cooking facilities, we all mostly cooked our meals. All the hostel staff were very helpful and very kind. especially our friend Huang. If I ever go to Hanoi in the future, I will definitely stay at this hostel. Very good, friendly and quiet hostel. I'll tell all my Bangladeshi friends if you want the best budget hostel in Hanoi city, then definitely Hanoi Dreamer Hostel will be the best...

Excellent location, probably one of the only places in the city where Ha Noi walking street, Dong Xuan night market are all within walking distance. The hosts were wonderful, we arrived early, they helped us plan our day in the city, gave us a map and local food suggestions. They helped us hire a motorbike. The breakfast was very tasty and great value for money. They let us stay an extra night with short notice which was great. The room was perfect for two, comfy beds, clean bathroom and good aircon. The family were so lovely and helpful, if we are lucky enough to return to Ha Noi we will definitely...
