The rooms were unfortunately booked out when we arrived in Hanoi and we first had to stay in a shabby and more expensive place. We then moved to Pleasant House and came back after a trip out of the city, so we tried two different rooms and they were both very comfortable with both fan, AC and a little balcony in the back - convenient for things that need to dry in the sun. |The decoration is adorable and shared bathroom isn’t a problem since there is a bathroom per floor and only 2 rooms per floor. It feels like a real homestay rather than a hotel and we felt very very comfortable in this place. A little haven away from the city noise and the couple who run the place are very friendly and authentic. They even lent us a scale to pack properly before our flight. We often skip breakfast because we’re simply not hungry in the morning but their food smells...

The place in a fantastic location - right in the middle of the Old Quarter within walking distance to everything. There's a fantastic pho restaurant next door. You actually walk through the alley beside it to get to the hotel. Viet Spring Rolls just a few doors down is also a must try. The air con in the rooms is fantastic and there's also a fan. The rooms are very cute and quite basic but that adds to the charm. It's really great considering what you pay. We did share a bathroom but it was totally fine. It was right outside our room and we only had to share with one other room on the floor. We never had to wait to use it. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, basic, clean...
