Indochina Legend Hotel Hanoi — Hotel in Hà Nội

I've stayed at Hanoi Focus Boutique Hotel back in 2017 and it was a great stay which lead to us booking it again for our most recent trip. Unfortunately, things have greatly declined for this hotel in the past 3 years. ||||1. Housekeeping Services. Absolutely horrendous, no standard operating procedure. We booked a room for 3 people, however, when we arrived the room was only prepared for 2 people. We had to repeatedly ask for extra set of towels, toiletries etc. There were only 2 cups, 2 glasses and 2 pairs of slippers in the room. Considering that the room is for 3 people, all amenities should be for 3 pax and not 2 pax.||||As for towels, during our 6 days 5 night stay, there are days whereby only bath towels were provided and no hand towels given. We had to repeatedly request for it. Most importantly, no floor mat was provided. ||||Towels are not laundered properly as they are discoloured and appear to be dark and not white. ||||Also, housekeeping does not even clean the toilets properly as the drain holes are not unclogged daily affecting the flow of the water in the shower area- we had to unclog it ourselves. ||||2. Amenities in the room. Whilst the room is slightly dated, it is still a good size. However, the rooms need renovation, the sliding door in the toilet has a great squeaking sound when sliding it and also the shower door does not close properly hence causing the water to leak into the toilet. ||||3. The lifts do not reach every floor, so be prepared to lug your luggage up / down the stairs. Also, the lift only starts from the 1'st floor so you have to lug your luggage up to the 1st floor first. Although the hotel staff will help you to do so. ||||Probably the only saving grace this hotel has is their front desk staff and their kitchen staff who are helpful, speaks good English. However, the only thing that can be improved is their recommendations/comments on places to go around the old quarters etc. When asked for recommendations, they will give you rather vague answers - which shouldn't be the case. ||||Overall, the hotel is in a very strategic location however there are better and newer hotels along the same street which can probably offer a...

I will summarize main strengths of hotel:||||1- excellent location, right in the middle of Hanoi’s old quarter. 2-3 minute walk to the famous lake, and all the old quarter action. This advantage comes with a price, quite noisy due to traffic and honking, so get some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.||2- well-equipped room. Comfortable bed, efficient AC, good-sized bathroom, all basic amenities provided, and excellent water temperature and pressure.||3- Good service and customer care. Staff is all very polite and helpful. Main reception lady Huyen aka “Ruby” speaks very good English (a real plus in Vietnam), is polite, organized, efficient, and caring. She helped us book a private car to Ha long bay and from Ha long bay to Hanoi airport for a fair price. Cars were new and comfortable, specially the one we got to Ha long bay, it was new and spacious. She also called to check on us upon the end of our cruise and made sure we were picked by the driver to go to airport.||The other lady that works at reception (forgot her name), was very helpful too. She saw me picking up a city map, and cane voluntarily to help explain to me the main sites to visit. ||Breakfast is simple but good. I have stayed with my wife and business partners of 4 rooms from 26 to 26 July 2022.||I had very good experience and helpful staff there. The walking booking and phone communication is very well welcomed and helpful. The lady is very good services and helpful.||The hotel room condition is clean and tidy the hotel location is in central of Hanoi Tourist attraction point with walking distant to night street, restaurants and Souvernir shop And easy to access to airport as well.||With busy traffic, this hotel is highly recommended for tourist or business who plan to visit as next to the tourist attractive point (night pub street and mixed type of restaurant) and also to the gocernment office and Musium.||After checked out and I feel I missed my phone Alin the room after I reach my country. I had calling the desk phone and the lady is very helpful help me check the room again and reply me very gently and friendly even she was assured that no any phone missing in side my room. ||Finally, I found my phone in my wife luggage and we end up with happy mood and great experience with friendly hospitality.||I would recommend this hotel with very good friendly staff and also affordable price and walking distance to the tourist attractive point and Vietnamese unique cuisine...
