My wife and I have had Omakase all around the world including Japan and I happened to come across this establishment while in Hanoi. I’m very glad I did.
The restaurant is fairly young at only at 6 months in and even with that being said I was blown away at how well everything was executed.
Waiters were polite, well mannered, spoke English and the chefs were amazing at their craft. It was a pleasure watching them work while dining.
They use real authentic Japanese ingredients and fresh fish on display.
My wife’s pregnant so she had the tonkotsu Ramen and she loved it. Me on the other hand… I had to try every single piece of nigiri there was to offer to truely get an understanding of how good this place was.
The quality of food was honestly fantastic. I’m from Melbourne Australia and we have some amazing Japanese omakase restaurants, I can confidently say that Sushi Ichi is better than a lot of them.
Value for money on its own is a reason to dine here. It was extremely affordable!
If they’re producing this kind of experience in their teething phase i can’t wait to see what they have to offer in the future. Wouldn’t be surprised if they end up in the Michelin guide.
Ambience was beautiful and comfortable with a slight casual touch making it more approachable and toilets were clean also.

Read moreI’ve been a regular customer at Sushi Ichi for the past 3 months, visiting about once a week — and I can confidently say this is the best Japanese restaurant I’ve tried in Hanoi.
The quality of the sashimi and sushi here is consistently outstanding — the meat tastes distinctively fresh and flavorful, far above what I’ve had at most other Japanese restaurants in the city. Every visit feels like a treat.
The service is also very consistent. It’s not flashy, but it’s genuinely attentive and thoughtful — for example, if a dish takes time to prepare, the staff will always let you know and bring out miso soup or snacks first so you’re not waiting empty-handed.
One thing that really touched me: on my wife’s birthday, they surprised us with a sushi “cake” without even asking for proof — it was such a warm and sincere gesture that made us feel appreciated as regular customers.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Japanese food, great consistency, and quiet...
