Delicious and humbling food experience! The venue is up a small staircase through a shop front. The people at the front of the venue kindly pointed us through to the restaurant. We ordered 3 dishes and two fresh juices (I would recommend only ordering 1 or 2 meals for two people as you receive complementary dishes). Seperate from the dishes we ordered, we received generous portions of tofu with tomato sauce, salad/herbs, broth and rice (I am sure this is subject to change with season/ availability). William the owner constructed the dipping sauce at our table and helpfully demonstrated how to combine/eat the food for the best experience. The food was extremely tasty and fresh, hosting a variety of delicious flavours. Honestly, it would have to be the most balanced meal we have had since arriving in Vietnam. At the end of the meal William shared a laminated A4 piece of paper that disclosed his story of being a street kid to now a social entrepreneur (I have attached it to this review). He has a heart felt story and you can feel his sincerity. Additionally, the business looks to be ran by his family where all hands are on deck from cooking to cleaning where the venue hosts an open kitchen. The meal came to around 300 000 dong which was a bargain for the whole experience and we decided to leave a tip which we know would contribute to Williams continuation of his business and social enterprise endeavours. We came to this venue as we are vegan and were searching for a Vietnamese dining experience that wasn’t manufactured for the westerners and this place did not disappoint! We will...

My son is vegetarian so we seek out this vegan restaurant. The place is very humble, in a windowless room one floor above street level accessed via a scruffy ground floor passage way. There seems to be a ground floor dining area at street level but there is no one in it. I am not even sure that it's for this restaurant so we go upstairs. At first it seems very basic. However the restaurant is clean and you can see the kitchen staff at work, all women. Presumably they are all relatives of the owner who is also the only waiter. The menu is in acceptably good English- a choice of vegan dishes which are home prepared with very fresh and tasty ingredients, only the best vegetables. You try to order several dishes but the owner advises you to stop at a couple because it's enough. The food arrives and it's really wonderful. More dishes arrive than we remember ordering - perhaps each order was for a set meal of 3 dishes. Anyway it's impossible to eat it all which is a shame but the cost is extremely reasonable. No beer, only fruit juices and water. We are very satisfied with our choice of restaurant.

Before we leave the owner gives us a laminated sheet of paper to read. It details his progress from childhood in post Vietnam War Hanoi to "social entrepreneur" running this restaurant in a very competitive environment "and the only people who want to help me live very far away". I suppose that means us customers from other places. It's a heart breaking story but all the owner asks for is that we pass on our experience of his product via social media....

I was really disappointed by what’s often called the “best vegan food” in Hanoi.

I did appreciate that they offer free tofu but honestly, that was probably the best part of the meal. The rest was, unfortunately, pretty average.

I would’ve been happier just paying around 100-150K for the “free food” and skipping the menu altogether. Most of what’s on offer is mock meat, and the vegetable dishes we did try were bland and watery. Even just a bit of salt would have made a difference.

The place does have a unique setup, and I think that’s a big part of why so many people love it. But if you’re looking for better quality vegan food — and for less money — there are plenty of other places in Hanoi that are worth trying.

I first came here back in February 2024 and had a totally different experience. This time, in April 2025, it felt like a different place. They’ve expanded a lot since then, and it shows and not in a good way. The food quality has dropped, and the vibe just isn’t the same. Many of the dishes I saw last time just weren’t there. There are way more staff now, but they seem more stressed than happy. Maybe that’s just the toll success takes.

I feel like there’s also a lot of food which is left over due to the freebies, which seems quite wasteful. I hope it’s not re-used for other customers but at least put to a good use some other way.

I hope they can get back to their roots and take the feedback to improve. I mean none of this personally, but just as a comparison to my previous...

Best vegan food in Ha Noi. The owner is so sweet and puts so much care into his food and restaurant. Eating family style to try as many things is possible is the best way to go. Aside from the food, the help provided to the community and love shown is above and beyond. I will always come back when im in the city
