Extremely pleasant experience during my recent visit with my family.
The room was clean and the room service did an excellent job cleaning the room up for us daily. The bedding is clean, no itchy feeling at all. Towels can be cleaner, saw some spots on them when using.
The location is great! Close to the lake as well as the weekend night market. Got to walk over to the night market and the streets daily with ease. The location is easy to take a grab and walk around. We get to choose due to the great location.
We were initially skeptical as the airport pickup was a pretty unfriendly guy who kept complaining that we walked around without noticing even though he was sitting at the waiting area (with the name sign down). Fortunately, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. When we first checked in, we were given a full map with suggestions for places we can visit by Jimmy (I think that is his name-he is the white uniform staff without glasses). His English comprehension and responses were very good. We were even given a sweet treat as a welcome gift. The fruit basket in the room was a welcome gift as well. Throughout our stay, the staff would greet us warmly and check with us how our trip has been so far. They even have a staff to specially open the door for us. Jenny has been extremely kind, giving us suggestions for places we can visit and checking up on us daily. When we gave a feedback that our water pressure and heating had issues, we were given a new room immediately. One of us ended up getting food poisoning during our stay and the staff immediately offered to bring us to the hospital. When we said we will monitor first, the staff offered to bring us to the hospital the very next morning if the illness persists. They continued to check on us the next few days as well which is such a kind gesture.
We did find a cockroach on the last day but it might have been the snacks that we brought back during the last few days. We got their aroma massage but would not recommend that as it did not feel very helpful. I’m a very ticklish person so the masseur ended up just scraping (…?) my scalp rather than doing more back or shoulder which I chose when asked by the other masseur if I wanted more head or back instead of my legs. I also feedback that I hurt my wrist area and to avoid that area before she started bur she ended up still doing that area during the massage. Not the best massage experience for 30+SGD paid. I’ve had better when paying for less.
The hotel breakfast had an array of foods and drinks which I enjoyed thoroughly. The choice of eggs and having chicken/beef noodle soup freshly made for me was such a plus point. The staff had pretty good English knowledge as well.
Overall, it has been an absolute pleasant experience with this hotel and I will definitely be back if I come back to Hanoi again! Apologies for not taking more photos of the hotel itself, am clearly a...
Read moreThe new year’eve of 2023 was ruined by this hotel , by these people.
The worst experience in my almost 40 years life.
TL DR The soundproofing of the room is horrible! Loud noise in the morning, loud music at the night. The manager won't help!
We checked in on 12/30, and we found a poster about new year’s eve party outside the front door later which is not mentioned in the process of checking in.
We returned to hotel very late that day and asked the receptionist if there’s firework at the new year party . He never asked if we want to make a reservation for the hotel party. To be clear, he never said any of the words like booking or reservation.
At morning on new year’s eve , another receptionist told us about the hotel party, and they have events in the evening. Again, she never mentioned the words like booking or reservation.
We’d assumed that the hotel customers are allowed to go to the party.
We returned to the hotel after dinner, show the room key to the receptionist after asking about new year party, we both get the wristband for entry. While he putting on the band for us, I was curious and just checking if this is free.
And then the nightmare begins, he asked that if we had made a reservation.
Of course the answer is no, and then other receptionist said the tickets are sold out.
They have to remove the band from the wrist. We were tired and shocked and let them remove those bands. .
The woman receptionist began to mislead everyone and confuse us. We are not English native speakers but we were still trying to speak the truth we knew at the moment. Instead of helping us, she blame us that we are aware of making the reservation and not have done it, which is not the truth.
And she said the tickets can be sold to people who are not hotel customers.
Eventually, she did help us to call the manager. The manager tried to make a phone call and then said he’s sorry can’t make the space for two people. But he doesn’t look sorry at all with a weird smile. Just like that, we were rejected to entry the party. The music was extremely loud even we closed the window at 12:00AM~3:00AM (our room was on the 11th floor). We couldn’t sleep and couldn’t go to the party.
Thinking all of this. it began to become more clear. No tickets prices or number of entry limit was mentioned in the whole process. They probably can make more money if the tickets are sold more to non-hotel-customers. The manager must be so proud of himself.
When we checked out, he asked us if everything goes well like nothing ever happened.
What a...
