I stayed in a double room for 2 nights and was blown away by the 5 star level of service. Rarely am I moved to write a review without being prompted, but I cannot stress enough the incredible value for money. Although initially suspicious of the skew of good reviews, I can testify their high ratings are truly well deserved.
The staff were extremely attentive, and their small gestures made us feel pampered throughout our stay--starting with welcome drinks, a thorough run through of Hanoi recommendations at our leisure, bedtime sweets coupled with the following day's weather forecast, an offer to pack food for our day trip to Ha Long Bay, and a farewell gift. They even took the pains to escort us to the bus stop just around the corner to make sure we caught the airport shuttle. The staff were also very convivial, and made us feel at ease during breakfast which was nothing short of excellent.
Laselva also nails the basics with clean and well lit rooms which look newly renovated and were luxurious for the price. We got a free upgrade to a slightly bigger room which was true to the photos on the booking sites. Nothing beats coming back from the dusty streets of Hanoi to a quiet, comfortable room with fantastic water pressure for the rain shower. Housekeeping did an excellent job of restocking amenities, straightening the room and tidying our things.
Location wise, the old quarter and the French quarter were very accessible. The airport shuttle also stopped within walkable distance of the hotel.
It's no exaggeration to say the stay at Laselva was a real sweetener to our Hanoi trip. We were never pressured to write a review, or made to feel obliged to give tips. Definitely can't recommend...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful. I'd give Laselva 6 stars if t'wer possible.
The service in no way reflects the budget price; the staff were sensational from start to finish.
We'd originally booked a block of time at the hotel which was interrupted unexpectedly by a third-party trip to Ha Long Bay. The girls on reception took this entirely in their stride, altered our stay at no extra cost and welcomed us back for leg #2 as if we'd never been away.
Every member of the Laselva team bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable in the hotel and happy in Hanoi. The majority of the team members speak wonderful, fluent English and always greet you by name (whether you're accepting room service, eating breakfast or checking out).
The hotel itself is modern and clean, with strong and consistent WiFi on all floors - or at least those we happened to be on. Breakfast is bonkers (burgers and fries as an option? 😅) but hearty and unlimited.
In addition, the location is perfect for the Old Quarter. You're a 2 minute walk from the lake - the spot where pretty much anything and everything happens on a weekend.
It feels rough to provide any criticism given the price we paid, but that's what reviews are for!
The second room we stayed in had an interior window with blinds which didn't quuiiiite block the fairly powerful light from the hallway. Whilst it didn't bother us at all, the rooms we stayed in didn't have any external windows. Worth noting.
That's all. 100%...
Read moreThe Hotel is great, number one top rated feature is the entire staff. I own a travel agency from Canada, I travel around the world several time a year, I have seen and experienced a thousand hotels either solo or with friends or on the tours I have guided in Asia and Europe and I must say that the Hanoi Laselva Hotel Impressed me by its incredible hospitality. Beautiful Miss Rose came outside to give us hand, the sign up was done in a few seconds and hassle free, she explained everything that is to be seen and also talk about the does and don't in the city, she also talked about the security features that most seasoned travelers usually know know, but reminders are always a good refresher, she spent at least 45 minutes to share everything. Everyone speaks great English at the reception and equally the same in their restaurant on the 9th floor. Food choice a LA Carte and since I am a Vegan eater, the choice of Asian style vegetable soup with noodle with a touch of spice and lemongrass was top on my list with the accompaniment of fresh squeezed juice. Rooms are small but very cozy, big Sony TV for the ones who don't keep their eyes on their Lonely Planet guide to prepare their days ahead. So to cut it short for the readers. This is a plus, plus home abode that as no reason to dissappoint seasoned travelers. Price is also right. I got a extra plus for my room with a beautiful terrace on...
