Terrible! I’ve booked a non smoking room, but all of my clothes smells cigarettes after staying there. The shower, sink and hairdryer desperately needed replacement. I know it’s situated in an old quater, I really didn’t expect all facility to be old and broken. Bad placement of toilet, leaky shower screen, rusted tap at the sink, very old but still working hairdryer and old cabinetry & bedframe. I’ve stayed in many Vietnamese hotel and it’s common for the bed to be hard. However my bed was practically a board! First night was sleepless, tossing and waking up with pain in my shoulders. I complained and they gave me some cushion/padding, after checking to realised my bed was just a base without mattress! The second night the air conditioner doesn’t work. I was out all day and only came back to sleep after 11pm. I was again tossing and waited as the air conditioning were only blowing fan air and not cooling even though I set it to 16degrees Celsius. Someone finally checked it in the morning and told me that there is an electrician coming to fix it. I had to demand to be transferred to another room. I wasn’t even offered! Moving into the new room, it kept on going. They did have the mattress this time but the aircon wasn’t turned on as I move in. It has a switch at the reception. I waited for another 15 minutes for the aircon, before going down to ask about it. Guess what, the male receptionist forgot about me and the aircon switch. I’ve never really written anything this bad but if there was an organisation overseeing hotel standards, this hotel shouldn’t get any license to operate. I like old style, but I paid for a standard working condition room. I felt tortured for the 2...

See pic one and two of our 'window' that is on the inside staircase of the hotel so all you can hear is people running up the stairs and screaming/talking loudly all the time.If you choose to stay here definitely book a lakeview room which should end in the 4. |Secondly, the mould and damp smell in the room is a constant, our asthmatic son was struggling with this one.|Thirdly, and I have noticed this on a few reviews is the faucet.|The faucet is no joke and of you have a child who is at that height, i would recommend that you keep an eagle eye on them in there as I attained a nasty burn myself. The intense heat radiating off the faucet is so dangerous, even if you only have a lukewarm shower, it does not affect the heat of the faucet side.|General cleanliness is ok, the shower was mouldy in places and ours never drained, ever, there was a contstant pool in there due to the slope of the tiling job not draining towards the drain. Have attached a pic of the water at the end of the day when it gets smelly.|Th staff were nice. The breakfast was ok, quite repetitive but definitely convenient. The views from the breakfast room on the eighth floor are gorgeous but that view is only for a small amount of time. See last pic for the view.|In finishing, this place is in need of TLC, not the RnB group but an actual refurbish and...
Read moreVietnam is booming now as tourist destination in Asia. Like other tourist destination, Hanoi has the same challenges like Taxi scam, over priced souvenir, communication problems etc. We checked and gone through several review and finally decided to stay in Old Quarter area. We booked the hotel via booking.com. ||Location: The best. You will have everything within the walking distance.||Room amenities: Nothing special. They ensure everything as per the star rating and what you paid for.||Breakfast: They provide English and traditional Chinese breakfast. The options are limited but decent enough.||Service: Their stuffs are awesome that makes the hotel one of the most popular hotel in Hanoi city. Prior to arrival their tour desk offered me their airport taxi service as well as the Halon bay tours. Airport taxi to hotel cost around $18 which is equivalent to the other taxi services. Upon arrival at hotel we met Lili. She offered us several Halon bay tours with different star ratings. We went out to compare the price with other tour operators but ended up with Lili's offer. She tought us which cruise to take and why to take. She took care off our luggages while we went for Two days tour. She gave us discount on return taxi fare to airport. In addition she always keep asking or calling us if we require any further help to explore the Hanoi city.||To finish off it's all about Lili, who made our Vietnam tour perfect. Highly recommend the hotel. Feel free to seek help...
