Staying at Imperial Hotel & Spa was a delightful experience. Staff are very welcoming & wonderful that we instantly felt their warmth & hospitality. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink & cold towels. They provided us with a Map of the area with recommendations on cafes , restaurants & retail shops. We were handed a helpful sheet with do’s & don’ts on the streets.
Its the first time I have seen a Customer Service Manager actually wait at the Reception desk & personally cater to the guests. The staff at the Reception desk are also equally helpful.
Our car couldn’t come till the hotel to drop us as the street was closed for the night market so the staff came all the way to the main street to pick our luggage.
They pampered us to the extent of even calling for a lift evertime we used it. They didn’t need to but they did that everytime for every guest who were stepping in & out of the hotel. We were served a refreshing Cinnamon tea on checkout and received a beautiful takeaway gift as a souvenir.
We stayed just for one night but the warmth they extended was beyond measure. Big shoutout to the Customer Service Manager , Mr Tom & the staff at the reception desk , Suzzie & Anna.
The rooms are spacious & very clean with the usual complementary tea / coffee / water & the mini fridge.
The hotel has its own spa & restaurant with Vegetarian options. Breakfast buffet is a delightful mix of Vietnamese & English cuisine. If anyone has any special request in meals they can always speak at the front desk & the staff will do all that they can to keep the guests happy. The staff is very attentive to all the needs of the guests. We stayed in a couple of hotels during this trip but the Hospitality provided in Imperial hotel is next level. We were super impressed with everything.
The beautiful St Joseph’s Cathedral, vibrant night market , city square, famous Hoan Kiem lake are all at a walking distance from the hotel. There are plenty of cafeterias, bars , restaurants , massage parlors & local food vendors in & around the hotel area.
Again , a huge shout out to the fabulous staff Mr Tom (Customer Service Manager) & the staff at the reception desk , Suzzie & Anna who treated us like a family with even important reminders to check if we carried all our documents n belongings...
Read moreImperial Hotel and Spa, nestled in the old quarter of Hanoi, offers a charming and convenient stay close to the lake. Initially, the hotel can be a bit tricky to find, hidden in a corner with a food cart vendor outside and vehicles heavily parked beside it. However, the welcoming ambiance inside quickly makes up for the somewhat chaotic exterior.
Upon entering the lobby, you're greeted warmly by the host, providing a pleasant contrast to the humid weather outside. The family room we stayed in was surprisingly spacious, featuring one double bed and two single beds, with a fairly large bathroom—quite unexpected given the hotel's small appearance from the outside.
Breakfast is an additional $10 per person unless included in your stay. The buffet offers a wide array of Asian dishes and a live station for Vietnamese specialties and eggs, available from 6:30 to 9:30 am. The hotel manager was exceptionally helpful, offering advice on navigating the city, including tips on using a local cab application instead of Grab for better rates and negotiating prices in shops.
The hotel's location in the old quarter provides easy access to numerous eateries, including the recommended 4P's Pizza and various restaurants near the lake. However, be prepared for some inconvenience during weekends when tourist blockages may require a 400-500 meter walk to the hotel.
Despite its central location, the hotel is surprisingly quiet. One unusual aspect is the policy on porcelain dishes in the bathroom, which are charged if broken—an odd rule given the potential for slips in a bathroom. Additionally, be aware that any damaged or misplaced items, including room keys, are charged in USD, as detailed in the room documentation.
A standout feature of Imperial Hotel and Spa is the luggage storage service available after checkout, allowing guests to explore the city unencumbered before returning to collect their bags.
Overall, our stay at Imperial Hotel and Spa was enjoyable, with its central location, helpful staff, and comfortable accommodations making it a great choice for travelers...
Read moreI thank my lucky stars that we picked Hanoi Imperial Hotel for our family's first major international trip post-COVID. Before we even arrived in Vietnam, Mr. Ian and the rest of the staff were helpful and communicative --from inquiring about our visa needs, airport pickup, suggestions on how to spend our 10-days in Vietnam, and assistance w/in-country travel.
Upon arrival the staff were incredibly warm and kind, serving us tea and attentive to all our needs. This was the tone set throughout the six nights we stayed--courteous, professional and friendly--without ever being overbearing. The little touches are what made our stay -- packing lunches for a long drive to the mountains, a thoughtful gift bag for when we departed. When our son got sick, the hospital they sent us to was one of the best experiences we've ever had re: emergency care (including in our home countries of the US and Canada), which made what could have been an extremely stressful day much more tolerable.
Special shout-out to Mr. Ian for being a travel consultant bar-none. He booked a great Halong Bay cruise for us and arranged a lovely hotel/tour led by a local indigenous woman for us in Sapa. As an example of going above and beyond, when my hiking backpack strap broke and I inquired about a local tailor who might be able to fix it quickly, he asked to see it and had it repaired in less than two hours.
The hotel is elegant and beautifully appointed (our son loved playing the grand piano in the lobby but remarked it could use a tuning). Prime location in the middle of the Old Quarter and on a more quiet street than many other hotels in the OQ, which is a bonus since Hanoi is a late-night city, especially on the weekends. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. Only issue w/bathroom is that the hot water gets incredibly hot --enough to cause burns if not careful, so water heater temp needs adjusting (made this suggestion to mgmt.)
If we ever visit Hanoi again --which we hope to--will definitely stay at the...
