Note Coffee: A Hidden Gem in Old Quarter, Hanoi

I stumbled upon Note Coffee during my visit to the charming Old Quarter of Hanoi, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! This quaint little café has quickly become a must-visit spot for anyone looking to savor the authentic flavors of Vietnamese egg coffee.

From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the cozy and artistic ambiance. The walls adorned with colorful sticky notes bearing heartfelt messages from visitors all around the world create a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's like stepping into a haven of creativity and connection.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the Vietnamese egg coffee. Oh boy, what an indulgence! Creamy, velvety, and rich, it's a delightful symphony of flavors that dance on your taste buds. The balance between the robust coffee and the sweet, frothy egg mixture is truly a match made in heaven. It's a unique experience that every coffee aficionado must try at least once in their lifetime.

The friendly staff at Note Coffee further enhance the overall experience. They are not only knowledgeable about their menu but also genuinely passionate about sharing the beauty of Vietnamese egg coffee with visitors. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just looking to try something new, they'll guide you through the menu and help you find your perfect cup.

Apart from the exquisite egg coffee, Note Coffee offers a variety of other beverages and light bites to complement your visit. I also couldn't resist trying their traditional Vietnamese drip coffee, and it didn't disappoint. It's evident that they pay attention to the quality of their ingredients and the care they put into crafting each cup.

While Note Coffee might be a bit off the beaten path, it's absolutely worth the effort to find. The experience of enjoying a cup of their famous egg coffee in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter is a memory I will cherish forever. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple seeking a romantic spot, or friends looking for a unique hangout, Note Coffee is a hidden gem that shouldn't be missed.

In a city brimming with coffee shops, Note Coffee stands out for its exceptional egg coffee, charming ambiance, and genuine hospitality. A definite must-visit for anyone exploring Hanoi's vibrant culinary scene. Kudos to the team at Note Coffee for creating such a special haven for coffee enthusiasts and wanderers alike!

Note: Don't forget to bring a marker and leave your own note on the wall to become a part of the café's colorful tapestry...

This coffee shop will perhaps become a core memory to me forever. Long story (w/ review) incoming.

It was a quite humid night in Hanoi and we really didn't think it would rain. Sucks for us, it did. Accuweather be damned. The Note Coffee was the first cafe we saw and rushed towards as we had nowhere to go.

We really didn't plan on buying anything lol. We just wanted some shed to let the rain die down. Very thankfully, the cafe employees even offered to let us in and wait inside and not just beside the cafe.

We took the offer, went inside and damn, it felt like a dream. I never knew about this cafe and all its gimmick. I'd tell you, you'd be there with a 360 view of all people's memories that they left through handwritten notes. Atmosphere alone puts the cafe's uniqueness and "worth going to" by +7 points on a 1-10 scale.

We stayed longer (as the rain was still raging hard) and bought us some chocolate and latte drinks. I have to say the drinks are "standard", nothing really something to write home about. It's fine. The servings are ok.

Here's the best part: the rain really didn't stop. We're under equipped and we just wanted to go home to our hotel. I asked to borrow one of the cafe's umbrellas and mentioned to the employee I talked to that I'd just go back to our hotel which is 7mins away from the cafe, get our own umbrellas, and then go back again to return it. Lifesaver moment, they agreed and our asses got saved.

Thank you so much The Note Coffee employee for your kindness :)

Summary: People here are great 5/5, atmosphere is perhaps 10/5, drinks are probably...

I went looking for this place as I had seen posts of it on Instagram. It is a small joint at walking distance from the Hoan Kiem Lake.

You will literally not be able to see the walls or ceiling as it is all covered will lots and lots of small notes. This will bring a smile on your face, just the thought that people love this place so much that they take the time to write and post the notes. Quite an innovative idea... I have seen other restaurants that usually use this idea for one or two wall areas.

We tried the Vietnamese Iced coffee with milk. I usually like my coffee without sugar but here the Vietnamese milk coffee is prepared in condensed milk so we ordered one with very less condensed milk. The coffee was decent, we have had better Vietnamese Iced coffee in this trip. However, they made it the way we asked them too and they served the coffee with a cute note (living up to the name of the cafe). 😊

Also, there was a staff who happily came up to us and took our picture with a nice frame of the cafe.

So I won't really recommend this place for coffee persay. However, I definitely recommend it for the friendly staff, warm ambience and for the big broad smile the note on the coffee brought to...
