This is a wonderful hotel to stay for its easy accessibility within a few minutes' walk to the Old Quarter, shops, cafes, spas & especially my favorite, the Train Street. Location is superb!
We stayed 7 nights in a premium room with our window view facing the streets so had to get used to honking sounds of bikes & cars every now & then. The room is otherwise clean & well maintained.
Their international breakfast is not bad especially their chicken or beef pho. I could just eat this delicious dish everyday & what's best is that I could have a mix of both chicken & beef.
Was impressed by the warm & friendly staff at the Front Desk & Concierge. All were eager to help or address any queries on where to go for sightseeing, dinner etc. From Day 1-3, a Concierge staff by the name of Luong ( spelling it as how it sounded), a young man who's tall & bespectacled went out of his way to guide us. One main item was to change our return flight from Hanoi to home 3 days earlier. It was hard to locate any airline representative office in Hano We also faced tremendous difficulty with contacting the airline office back home. Luong tried very hard to assist. Though we finally managed to resolve this item on our own, we appreciate Luong's enthusiasm & positive attitude. In general, the entire Concierge team is very eager to help their guests & always with a cheery spirit & big smile & also working together as one team. The manager in charge should be proud of his team & give them a big pat on the back!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to savour a positive...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel two years ago and was quite satisfied, but this return visit has been truly terrible and left me with a very bad experience. When I entered the hotel, I was carrying a suitcase, but the bellman just stood there watching without offering to help or even greeting me. While I was checking in, the bellman named Thịnh spoke to me in a disrespectful manner. I reported this issue, but during my entire 3-day, 2-night stay and even upon checking out, I never received a single apology.
I initially thought the overall service quality had declined, but the next day, I saw the staff warmly welcoming foreign guests and offering them welcome drinks—something I never received while waiting to check in. It made me feel that the hotel discriminates between foreign and Vietnamese guests, which is deeply disappointing.
As for the room, it was fairly decent, but there were a few drawbacks: there were insects, and the curtains couldn’t be fully closed, which could be inconvenient for light-sensitive guests who struggle to sleep.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the hotel’s service. Working in the hospitality industry without showing respect for customers is a...
Read moreOnly stayed in 4 hotels in Vietnam and at least three of them are hard to seperate in terms of quality, but the Silk Path Hanoi is a really lovely place to stay. Read it in the lonely planet and the recommendation was accurate. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to help us with securing tickets to the soccer. (CA Hanoi won BTW) Although the stadium wasn't full and we needn't have worried - you can get tickets on the day. More in my review of Hang Day stadium. Still, the Silk Path Hanoi staff did their best with assistance with money exchange (reasonable rates) and always someone there to open the door. They helped us with our luggage and arranged for transport to Hanoi airport. I would recommend the staff point towards the heart of the French quarter, which is in front of the building. It's across the road, and crossing the road is no mean feat in any of the cities of Vietnam - but once you're there there's a plethora of cafes and a feeling of Paris that's just lovely. Motorbikes still ho down the street but nothing like the insanity of the traffic...
