Words can never express how much trouble the owner and front desk staff go to to make your stay here stress free. You will be given maps and areas of interest highlighted, taxis will be ordered if you need them at a cheap price then you will be walked out to make sure you are ok, laundry taken care of at a good price, the breakfast is excellent and much to choose from western or vietnamese. We did a tour of Halong Bay we had googled a lot but were confused but front desk staff gave us some big books so made it easier to choose the right one and was very good value an amazing experience also made easy by their incrediable help. The pick ups and drop off at the airports was prompt and cheaper than we could of organised by ourselves. The beds are good, the aircons work efficiently the rooms are very clean, the position of the character filled hotel is great as in quiet street with plenty of restuarants on your doorstep. But above all it is the happy owner and front desk gentleman ( I am so sorry lost my pieces of paper with your names on it) that made our stay the best we have had nothing is too much trouble for them we felt we were staying with family. Thanks so much for looking after us we will certainly come back Rhonda and Mac from...
Read moreEven though the hotel advertises breakfast included, that's not actually all rooms. Apparently I booked the one room they don't offer for booking with breakfast. They told me to call Expedia and even Expedia said they have the listing wrong and need to fix it. But for the life of them, multiple staff at the hotel could not comprehend why it was their problem and not Expedia's problem.
So basically, it's not actually "breakfast included" unless you 1) Book the right room and 2) Pay more for that room.
Also the 8th floor is where the staff also works out of and is extremely loud in the mornings. So do not expect to be able to sleep in because they will stand in the halls on their phones loud enough to wake you through the gaps in the door. Not to mention the walls and windows are so thin you can hear everything outside like honking and roosters.
Lastly, apparently the items in the mini fridge are not complimentary. This is also something they do not tell you until after the fact. Not a fan of that, it feels...
Read moreGreat value hotel. The location is good for exploring the Old Quarter while not being too close to all the noise and chaos. It’s located in an alleyway, so there are no cars driving by. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area. I recommend checking out the railroad cafe. They have fantastic egg coffees and beers for a good price.
The staff in hotel are kind and friendly. The main guy working while I was there spoke great English and was always smiling. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. AC works great. Shower was hot and the bathroom was clean. Beware of the shower drainage though. I almost flooded the room after having a shower and letting too much water seep towards the drain under the sink. I enjoyed having the desk and the lounging chairs. The view from the 7th floor was cool. Lots of window space to let light in. Breakfast was simple but tasty.
Overall, a great place to stay just outside of the main part of the Old Quarter. Good value for your money. I...
