Great location and a really nice, quiet back street a few minutes walk to train Street and 10mins to old quarter/Lake. 2 blocks from Cathedral and temple of literature. 27k vnd to Lake via grab in a car.
Rooms were good, we were able to stay in 2 different rooms due to not getting the room we booked for the first night. Staff were really nice and made sure they fixed the issue for our second night. Room 1 was a 2 room/2 bathroom on floor 3, a bit small with small windows (one wouldn't close) and no windows that were big enough to see outside, just light 'bricks'. Room 2 was a 7 floor with 2 balcony city view, much better room with lots of natural light, room and a much nicer bathroom. Very good room for kids!
Both rooms have working washing machine and kitchen. Shower heads were average.
The room mix up was interesting as we double checked with the hotel 3 weeks before arriving and it was confirmed that we had the room we booked via booking. Com, screen shots were sent as well at booking to confirm we had the right room. We checked all this as there was another review with a similar experience. We were put in the 3rd floor room with no mention, it was up to us to identify the issue and unfortunately we had to work hard to get it fixed initially! We were told it was a system error which I don't believe, mainly as I checked, asked and checked again. Human error maybe, but I'm not convinced.
Breakfast was good, really small breakfast room, so get in early as it services 2 hotels. Food was good, but buffet was not extensive. Did it job though!
Overall, it was a great stay in a...
Read moreBeware: this hotel posts fraudulent reviews. They somehow posted a great review of themselves using my account. The rooms are also not as described in the listing.
The apartment is very dated and in disrepair. It does not have a city view. The windows have a view of a wall on the side of another building.
The keycard was disgusting and needs to be replaced. It was caked in dirt.
The property is not handicap accessible. The entrance to the hotel has steep and slippery steps without a handrail. Our daughter is disabled, and this made our stay very challenging.
There is mold in the reusable shampoo and conditioner containers in the shower. There are also holes in the wall of the shower. The towels had logos from another hotel on them and were badly stained.
The breakfast is in another hotel down the road, and it was not edible for Westerners. The coffee tasted like plastic.
The kitchen was practically unusable, with barely any utensils, watered down dish soap, and a disgusting sponge.
Michael, the manager, tried selling us overpriced tours and was very cold towards us after we declined. The other staff, to their credit, were very polite.
The most concerning aspects were the fraudulent reviews and inaccurate listing information. Beware. I do not recommend this...
Read moreWe stayed for 5 nights at the Hanoi Central Hotel & Residences in a 2 room suite with windows. The room was very comfortable with free bottled water and coffee provided daily.
Breakfast buffet is served on the 1st floor, with eggs and pancakes cooked to order. There’s a full range of food options reflecting the global nature of the hotel’s guests.
The hotel is located in a quiet alley set back from the main streets of the Old Quarter of Hanoi, so it’s very quiet with none of the constant traffic noise elsewhere.
While it’s away from the noise, it’s still perfectly located, with Hoan Kiem Lake and Train Street both just 5 minutes walk away.
All of the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. A few weeks prior to our arrival, Andrew got in touch to check if we had any requests and kindly arranged a transfer from Hanoi Airport for us as well as making excellent recommendations for places to eat close to the hotel. He was also very forgiving when we foolishly lost our room key on our first day.
This is the perfect base for exploring Hanoi. We would definitely...
