I have to agree with occupants that how these stars come along. I mean, a 4 star hotel would meant it have swimming pools and a gym but apparently this hotel has no such facilities. This can be just call a 3 star hotel.
Generally this hotel is perfect for couple and small family like children under 12 years old.
Room We had a queen size and a single bed room which was a room for 3 pax or a small family of 4. Room size was decent, although so proper table but they have a sofa which was great. A small vanity, 2 bedside table, bar top and a luggage bench. I think these are very good for a short stay. They even have a small wardrobe with a number of hangers. Not those kind that is not removable. the corridor is using very thin partition so we can hear people walking so do wear a ear plug if you are light sleeper. You can also hear the toilet being flush. This is the only downside staying in a quarters as the building itself is those old school kind.
Toilet Decent size too with Shower cubicle. So we have a dry and wet area.
Room service Fast, clean.
Breakfast Same varieties for the past 5 mornings but is generally tasty. They also include some hot food like beef pho. The cafe can only hope about 20 pax each time. So do plan your timing else you have to wait at the lobby.
Receptionist Speak decent English, friendly, smiley and approachable. Knowledgeable and understand what customer wants before even asking. Good job.
Location end of the old quarter, nearer to the train cafes. Is quite chaotic to walk around the old quarter If it's your first time here. This location is best for first time tourist. You wouldn't be overwhelmed by the car and human traffic. As is not at the main tourist area, is quieter at night so you would have a great night sleep. There are pharmacy, drinks cafe, food and stalls all withing walking distant around the cafe. All within a good 5 min walk. Anything more than 5 min walk you can try using the grab rider.
I understand from some reviews that some of the rooms are at the other building. We also got to know on the day and we request to change it because we want it to be more convenient. This building is newer so do ask to stay at the main building with cafe. But if you want bigger room then it will be at the other side of the building. Is quite troublesome and when it rains you still have to bring an umbrella. Not very convenient
Pricing Depending on season. Mine was S$400 for 5 nights.
Things to improvement water pressure. Seems they are using tank so the pressure is very inconsistent. Is either super hot hot water or cold cold water. Lol. Hard to adjust to the perfect...
Read moreStayed at the Hanoi Calista Hotel for four (4) nights, and I could not recommend the hotel enough to Hanoi visitors. It is a charming little boutique hotel that packs a punch. The chic lobby interiors are tastefully French-inspired, as is the small dining hall at the basement, which reminds me of the hotel we stayed in when we went to Paris.
We were assigned Room 601, and while it is small by American standards, I like how it is thoughtfully laid out, and all the necessary amenities are in place. 2 large suitcases definitely can fit along with 2 medium handcarry luggages, and you still have enough room to move about. The bed is king-size and I also love that there is a small balcony where you can peer out on for some natural air.
I would like to thank the staff, particularly Ms. Amanda and the people in the front desk, dining hall, and housekeeping. They are extremely helpful and have a sense of urgency in attending to guest needs.
Ms. Amanda also arranged for our Halong Bay overnight cruise prior to our hotel check in, and graciously offered to accommodate us for an early morning shower at their sister property, as well as breakfast at the hotel’s dining hall before the cruise limousine service picked us up to take us to the port in Halong Bay. This was all prior to our actual check in to Calista, which we did the next day upon returning from the overnight cruise. And at no additional cost! Talk about going the extra mile in providing a seamless guest experience! Thank you, we will most...
Read moreThere cannot be a better choice than Calista Hotel Hanoi for a trip. Right from the word go Tracy was very prompt with all the booking details, inclusions etc on whatapp and very prompt with sending us the booking voucher etc via email and correspondence was seamless.
We opted for the hotel pick up which was also well organised and timely.
The best part of the hotel was the staff at the reception. A huge shout out to Andrew for going that extra mile every single time with all our requests. The service and hospitality by Andrew was top notch and he specifically requires a special mention. Whether it was calling for a Grab taxi, or suggesting a shopping mall, or making a reservation at Co Dam Chay Andrew was always willing to help with a smile. He even went out of the way and booked tickets for us for the Water Puppet Show in the sweltering Hanoi summer at 40 degrees celcius. Our stay was extra special due to extra special hospitality by Andrew.
Hotel location is perfect at Old Quarter. Hoan Kiem Lake and many sight seeing spots like the Cathedral, night market and shopping streets are all walking distance.
The two bedroom apartment was spacious, clean with all basic amenities in place. The conceirge was very prompt with any requests we had. The huge plus was a washer and dryer in the room during the sweltering...
