Unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience here. We booked the deluxe double room originally, only to find out that we were put in a cheaper/smaller room (we weren't refunded either for the difference, not that it was much $$). I thought check-in went pretty smoothly and the receptionist was nice considering we arrived around 12am, however, when we were trying to sleep, the receptionist knocked on our door at 3am telling us that she needed to see the reservation again (we booked through Expedia). We showed her the booking and she said she couldn't find our reservation, even though we booked this room almost a year in advance and told us the hotel was full. In a panic, I asked her to check again and she eventually found our reservation, but she had already put another couple in that room and said it's too much of a hassle to change rooms. The staff also change often and they seem to work at different hotels, so there seems to be a lot of disorganization - upon checkout a different receptionist was trying to look for our reservation and again could not find it. We ended up leaving our phone number with her in case there was any problems as we had a flight to catch.
The room itself looked like it was falling apart slightly (as other reviewers have mentioned), there's stains, paint chipping away, exposed wiring and the bathroom was a bit grimy, my partner noticed that there was some urine around the toilet, so the cleaning standards don't seem too high. The hot water also didn't seem to be working for the shower (there's a switch to turn the hot water on and off, but we tried both ways and the water was still very cold). Locking the room door was a bit of a challenge and the hallway to get to our room was kinda dirty looking as well. I definitely wouldn't trust the pictures shown on Expedia or any booking platform for this hotel. At the very least, there was air conditioning, a working fridge and the bedsheets were clean.
The hotel was narrow and the elevator is quite small, so it's a bit of a challenge if you come in with big luggage. Since the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops, it's off the main road and no cars can get in if you're taking a Grab. The walk was like 3 minutes though, so it's not too bad.
We booked this hotel because it was very affordable, in a good area and there were a ton of good reviews, but we were disappointed with our experience and wouldn't recommend coming here - it was not a great start to...
Read moreHonestly, worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. Don’t be fooled by the pictures, because below is literally connected to those shady street spas (we honestly dont know if they are under the same business, but from the photos posted online, it doesnt show the spa. It just looks like a big lobby, but its not, the lobby only fits like 2 people.
We are quite disappointed in the overall experience of the stay on our first few days before we left for Sapa.
There was no drop off point at the hotel, we had to walk out if we wanted to get a grab.
Upon check in, they didnt allow us to have early check in, hence we have to leave our bags with them, but they just left it at the door, where it is fully accessible to public since it was connected to a massage parlour below.
Upon check in, our basin was leaking, they didnt even provide a foot towel, toilet paper and Face Towel, and when we called the reception, no one picked up and we had to go below to tell them face to face, only for them to tell us it can only be fixed the following day, and they didnt even provide the option to change room, telling us this was the best room.
The next day, the lady kept spam calling me to ask me and my partner if they can fix the basin, even though i told them we were still using the washroom, they in the end only fixed the bathroom at 5pm.
And when we decided to visit the spa below the hotel, to wash hair and get a foot massage, they didnt even do a proper job, and extorted tips from us, even after we already gave them some tips.
The place is hard to get to, and honestly pretty far from the center, the bad was hard and toilet had so much water stains everywhere.
Our stay there was extremely unsatisfactory and we decided to move hotels halfway through because we honestly cant stand to stay...
