PICTURES PUBLISHED BY HOTEL DO NOT REPRESENT THE REAL QUALITY/CONDITION
1 - entrance had plastic bags of staff's personal items all over the counters. There was a big bin bag on a cardboard box with an extension lead and a pair of shoes shoved at the cashiers desk. Yes there is the big beaded chandelier thing but the rest is a total mess. 2 - the massage area has semi frosted glass windows and is right by the elevator. If you were having a massage, you have no privacy at all 3 - the recept photographed my passport on his personal phone 4 - the whole building needs renovating. There are scuffs in the walls, peeling paper etc. Nothing like the pictures. 5 - rooms are left unlocked and open while there is no guest in them 6 - my room had rubbish in it from a previous guest 7 - bathroom had no toiletries as shown in pictures 8 - the hotel slippers were reusable plastic slides/flip flops. Same shoes for all the guests in that room 9 - the fridge didn't work 10 - sheets were ripped 11 - the "mini bar" was a dirty drawer 12 - the bathroom had a glass wall that you could make more discreet with a sheer nylon curtain but you really had no privacy 13 - the shower had a large glass external window looking onto a small balcony. There was a sad tree in a pot there. There was access to the space outside the balcony from the room that had access. For this room you had no access. When I told the reception about this, he told me there was no access from other rooms. I asked him how did a tree in a pot get there? And also told him I had gone to the open rooms next door and could see they had access! 14 - the telephone was filthy 15 - the device for the lights was also disgustingly filthy 16 - the shower was dirty 17 - I came down to reception and the guy was lying on a sofa with his feet up looking at his phone. It was only about 5pm
As I mentioned I checked another room on the same floor that had the door open because there were no guests. That room was bigger but the bathroom looked nothing like the images the hotel published, the bedroom was just as grim with the same sheer curtains, the phone/device for lights also filthy. It wasn't just my room.
After complaining, the reception told me it was because I booked a classic room. So that's what they looked like. I already knew all the rooms looked that bad. I could also see the same room in their online pictures. The pictures must be really old because now it looks nothing like it.
He offered me another room on a different floor. It was a bigger room but still very poor and nothing like any pictures they published online. The fridge didn't work in this room. Filthy phone etc.
He would not allow me to cancel with any refund despite the images being 100% false advertising. So I left and went elsewhere.
I don't mind cheap and cheerful, but I expect pictures to be honest and representative of the current state of the place. It's tired, dirty and with poor service. Totally misleading.
The only positive is it is right in the middle of the most hectic part of the Old Quarter. Quite noisy and a lot of bustle/tourists but you...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience – Far from Luxury
This hotel is marketed as a luxury destination in the heart of Hanoi, but it completely fails to live up to its promises. Unfortunately, our stay was riddled with issues that made it anything but luxurious.
Service: The staff’s lack of professionalism was shocking. They seemed completely uninterested in their guests’ needs. On multiple occasions, we saw staff sleeping on the couches in the lobby, and the doorman, who was supposed to welcome guests, spent his time glued to his phone instead of opening the door even once. Additionally, we were only allowed one room key and were told we’d have to pay extra for another – a frustrating and inconvenient policy. The most upsetting moment, however, was at breakfast when one staff member made rude, body-shaming comments about both me and my sister. This was unprofessional and deeply hurtful.
The Room: We booked a family room for three people but were pushed into upgrading to a suite. What we got was far from a proper suite. The room lacked basic amenities like an ironing board, the light switches didn’t work properly, and there was an irritating noise throughout the night. To make matters worse, the room was not cleaned unless we explicitly requested it. This should have been standard, especially in a so-called luxury hotel. The bathroom, while spacious, was poorly designed. The shower was inside the bathtub, had little to no water pressure, and the shower head was so tiny it barely got us wet. It was incredibly disappointing for what was supposed to be an upgraded room.
The Christmas Party: We attended the hotel’s Christmas party, expecting a festive and enjoyable evening, but it was nothing short of awkward. We were the only family present, which created a strange atmosphere. While the food was decent, the music was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation. It felt more like an afterthought than a well-planned event.
Overall, this hotel does not deliver on its promises and is far from being a luxury experience. If you’re considering staying here, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. It felt like a scam, and we left deeply...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE. SCAM
First and for most the receptionist insisted on doing the review for me, she took my phone to give a full five star review and didn't want to take no for an answer.
Place is advertised as a four star hotel and the pictures they post would make you believe it, but in reality it's more like a 1-2 star hotel. The building and the rooms clearly aren't looked after properly, for instance there's dust and dirt all over the place, stains on the walls and the cupboards, plaster peeling off the walls and ceiling and the air conditioning doesn't work properly. The mini fridge didn't work and smelled awful, as well as the fact that we were told the drinks were all included/free. But it turns out that only the tea and coffee is, the alcohol and drinks in the fridge were not, and we were only told this days before our stay there would end. On more than occasion I had people either trying to come into my room, or actually come into my room when I was in bed. Why are people being given keys that seemingly work on all the doors, or given keys to rooms that are already occupied. The room service maids are rude and tried to come in without knocking, and they don't even clean the place properly or replace bed sheets and linen. They didn't even change the dirty cups, they just washed them in the sink right in front of me. I had a lamp by the bedside which was clearly fire damaged with burn marks around the wiring, along with cabling coming right out of the wall.
My last complaint would be that it has a sister hotel down the street from it, yet they are advertised as one establishment and from what I gather from other people's reviews you just get sent to one or the other randomly. The sister hotel is the nicer of the two and is the one with the rooftop bar and restaurant that the main hotel is shown to have.
Just avoid this place, waste of money, only good thing is the location, and some of the staff are nice. Clapped...
