Very authentic homestay experience. Duong was an informative and graceful host. When we arrived, he sat us down and detailed the area on a big map and told us what to expect. He gave us advice on prices and things to avoid. His recommendation for his son’s coffee shop called The Espresso Station was top notch. Best coffee we’ve had in Vietnam!
Breakfast is served until whatever time you come down for it. It’s basically either soup, eggs, or fruit. The pho was really good. Real Vietnamese drip coffee too. The front doors aren’t locked until every guest comes home. I’ve stayed at a handful of homestays in Vietnam, and just those 2 courtesies make this homestay stand out. Bicycles are also free to rent. Unfortunately, it was raining during our stay, so we didn’t get to take advantage. The homestay is a 10-15min walk from the entrance to the Old Quarter. We enjoy walking, so we didn’t mind at all, but it’s something to keep in mind.
The room was small, clean, and comfortable. AC worked well. Bed was soft and comfy. There’s a lockable wardrobe to keep your stuff in if you so choose. The bathroom is a wet room. The fan didn’t work making the bathroom a bit stuffy, but it wasn’t too bad. The shower is in between the sink and the toilet, so expect a wet floor. It would have been nice to have a mop or squeegee to dry off the floor after showering.
Overall, it was a good experience for a great price. I...
Read moreCan’t recommend Blue Clouds enough! Best accommodation we have stayed at anywhere. From before we got there until the moment we left, Duong and his wife as well as their dog Rum went above and beyond to make sure we made the most of our trip in Hoi An. He emailed in advance so we were able to set up transport from Da Nang straight to the door step. Upon arrival, we were given the most refreshing welcome drink and the room was pre-cooled (the A/C works great), spacious, and comfortable. At check in, Duong has a map to point out all of the things to note about Hoi An and the activities in the surrounding area. He is very knowledgeable and has great recommendations. Blue Clouds is in a great location a short walking distance to the ancient town. There are free bikes for use to get around area. There is laundry service on site as well. He is also very helpful in coordinating your onward plans, we had already booked our train tickets but he set up transport to the railway station and made sure we had breakfast before our early morning departure. The service throughout the stay truly is exceptional. All of the services provided on site and coordinated through Duong are very affordable and transparent. In addition to the incredible hospitality, the place is worth booking just to play with their adorable dog...
Read moreWe found this Homestay on Hostelworld and the main thing we read was that the hosts are very lovely.
Let me tell you, these were honestly THE NICEST people we have met in Vietnam so far. We came by sleeper bus from Nha Trang to Hoi An, which was a horrible ride without any sleep. We were supposed to arrive at 8.00 in the morning and checkin was Ofcourse later. The bus arrived in Hoi An at 6.00 and we were at 7.00 at the hostel. We were happily welcomed and the woman of the hostel told us our room was ready in 10 minutes if we wanted 😱 Mentally and physically tired, we could cry that we were able to check in early!
We had breakfast included, which they made themselves and it was very nice! Especially the iced coffee and the passion fruit juice! We were able to use their bikes and they helped us get a cooking class, scooters and scooters to Hue. Our time was so nice with Wang and Duong, we wanted to stay one more day and they were super flexible and able to provide us this.
The Homestay is a bit more out of the Center in a quiet area, the room had airco and a balcony. Honestly the most relaxed stay we had during our travels in Vietnam!
Dear Wang and Duong, thank you so much for your hospitality, kindness and amazing talks. We enjoyed every bit.
Hugs and kisses,...
