Green Town Hotel — Hotel in Hội An

I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Hoi an. I have spent three night here, and I arrived really late due to flight delay. Staff waited me overnight sleeping at the reception area, and the lady owner has been really kind throughout my stay. Also, it is clean, just like the photo looks. I walked around room with my bare foot but it was rather pleasing because floor was really clean. What I recommend greatly is this hotels restaurant, home-made style cuisine made by the lady owner. The omelet is great as recommended by other visitors, but pho (soup noodle) was the best for me and my team which was best noodles in my 5 day stay in Vietnam. It is walking distance to the Hoi an old town (about three or four blocks, about 10~15 min even with my slow walking style) and in two blocks you can find famous restaurant, Ban-mi shop and other restaurants top rated by TripAdvisor. There are some exchange shops on the way to the old town, but hotels rate is not so bad. I had been walking myself to the old town and back, since the Vietnam is rather hot place, I visited many cafes. There are some nice cafes near the hotel, some even with air conditioner, but my favorite is this hotels drinks. This hotel provided with the best ice blocks inside the drink, which was really chill and refreshing, I will never forget the ice ginger tea which I had after ten minutes’ sweaty walk from the old town at noon. It was the best refreshing ginger tea I ever had in my life. I will surely miss it. My husband told me this gives best ice americano, which was his favorite, he drank it at least three to four times, breakfast, lunch, after lunch and start of the evening. The mini bar is really reasonable price, I looked around other shops but decided to drink from the mini bar.

We stayed 3 nights with Ms Phuong in her family hotel. The pool on the roof is an excellent place to chill out and the banana pancakes with milk chocolate were a daily breakfast treat. The room was spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable and the AC had an excellent ‘quiet’ feature that actually worked at night. The hotel is about a 20 min walk from the old town but it’s only a 15,000 VND ride home late at night by Grab moped. We liked the fact that the road was quiet and we could sleep well, we also liked that Ms Phuong and the family were so welcoming. For example, their 16 year old son Thao took 2 days to pluck up courage to ask if we would sit and talk English with him. His English is excellent and we had a fantastic conversation with him about his life in Vietnam and what he dreams about doing. If you stay please ask him to have a chat, he’s a super nice kid. The location of this small hotel is 10 minutes walking distance to the ancient city and near beautiful rice terraces for biking. You can also take a short bike ride to the beach or outside of the ancient city to visit small towns to see wood carving and the vegetable village. The room was very clean, cleaned daily and the bed was large and comfortable. I enjoyed the ceiling fan but there is A/C if desired. The Wi-Fi worked very well and the neighborhood was quiet. There are nearby cafés and small restaurants and free bikes to use. Phuong and her family that run the hotel are very sweet and able to assist with transportation and/or tours. Laundry service is also available at an affordable price and the room itself was at a very reasonable price. The roof pool and sitting area was nice to have for reading or lounging.
