Thìa Gỗ Vietnamese Restaurant Hoi An — Restaurant in Hội An

I visited this restaurant because it was listed in the Michelin Guide, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. When I arrived, I was the only customer in the restaurant. Despite being empty, the service was extremely slow. I ordered two basic dishes — Pho and rolls combo — but it took nearly 30 minutes for the food to be served. Meanwhile, customers who came in after me (even two groups later) got their food first (also Pho). Worse yet, my bowl of Pho HAD A LOT OF ANTS in it, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food hygiene & safety issue. The staff were not friendly or welcoming. They even brought me the wrong dish, despite me confirming the order carefully beforehand. Overall, it was a bad experience. I genuinely expected better from a place mentioned by the Michelin Guide. Went went to this restaurant specifically because they have local dishes that are only available in Hoi An branches - but they were unavailable for some reason, due to language barriers we didn't get to know why.

The portions were HALF the size we had in the Da Nang branch!

But the WORST. I was sitting facing the open kitchen, and saw the 'chef' tasting something with the exact ladle he used for cooking. He made eye contact with me, then turned his head away a bit, pretending it's not happening. I went here for a hotpot experience then leave with an EMPTY STOMACH! 😡 The staffs weren’t pay attention to my order at all. So only drinks were served on the table, 40 mins past, the table came after us were served fully.

So i stood up and ask them where is the food. Turned out they did not get the food order, but nobody checked in with us. Staffs were on the phone most of the time🙃🙃no music, no ambiance, purely serving ignorance….

Please do not come here!!! I heard they have other branches in Da Nang and Thailand. Seriously wonder how they wish to expand their service with this low...
