Built back in 1653, the Quan Cong Temple was made to honor the Chinese general Quan Cong, a famous military figure from the Three Kingdoms period. The temple sits at the corner of Tran Phu and Nguyen Hue streets, and locals usually call it 'the Pagoda of the Man' because it's physically connected to 'the Pagoda of the Lady' right behind it, which is dedicated to Quan Am.

The temple was renovated a few times between 1753 and 1827 and had some more restorations in the 20th century. It’s still one of the best examples of Southern Chinese temple architecture in the city. As a bonus, it also has a small museum about Hoi An's history, which is a cool thing...

Miếu Quan Công (Quan Thánh Miếu) là nơi thờ danh tướng Quan Vân Trường, nổi tiếng với lòng nghĩa khí, tiết trung liệt, thời Tam Quốc. Ngôi đền rực rỡ sắc đỏ, vàng và xanh cùng những họa tiết trang trí vẫn giữ được sự lộng lẫy đến tận ngày nay.

Được xây dựng vào năm 1653, Miếu Quan Công (hay còn được gọi là Chùa Ông) đã được xây sửa nhiều lần. Cũng tương tự như nhiều công trình kiến trúc cổ khác tại Hội An, tuy qua nhiều lần trùng tu, miếu vẫn được bảo tồn hầu như nguyên mẫu. Miếu đã được công nhận là Di sản Văn hóa và Lịch sử Quốc gia.

Miếu được xây bằng gạch nung, mái lợp ngói gốm men lục truyền thống với nhiều họa tiết rồng, lân trang trí.

Cổng chính của miếu được chạm trổ hình đôi rồng uốn lượn giữa mây xanh. Tương truyền Quan Công chính là hiện thân của Thanh Long - Bạch Hổ.

Chính điện là nơi đặt hương án và tượng thờ Quan Công. Cũng như lúc sinh thời, bên cạnh ngài là hai tướng Quan Bình và Châu Thương trung thành. Trong đền còn nhiều hoành phi, liễn đối, thư họa khác tán dương công trạng và sự kiên trung của ngài. Phần lớn các tác phẩm này được các thành viên hoàng tộc và học giả danh tiếng trao tặng chùa.

Tiền sảnh còn đặt nhiều khí cụ cổ đặc sắc, như chiếc chuông đồng và trống gỗ khổng lồ được vua Bảo Đại trao tặng lúc sinh thời. Chính điện nằm về phía hậu sảnh của khu miếu. Tại đây còn có tượng con ngựa nổi tiếng của ngài với kích thước như thật. Và đừng bỏ qua khu giếng trời nằm ở gian giữa với hồ nước non bộ không kém phần đặc sắc.

Miếu Quan Công nằm tại trung tâm phố cổ, số 24 đường Trần Phú. Chùa mở cửa đón khách tham quan mỗi ngày. Ngày nay, dịp lễ hội Chùa Ông hai lần trong năm thường thu hút khá đông du khách và tín đồ tham dự. Lễ hội diễn ra vào ngày 13/1 và...
