So here’s the thing, and to preface we did think this place was the tik tok popular tailor 41, but that’s right next door. The clothes I got tailored here (2 tops and a pair of pants), they’re good but not great. Quality-wise it’s fine, stitching is good, material is good, and the fits are ok, some better than others. But the thing is Mrs. Ahn is really pushy to get you to buy something and I was there with a friend and we had maybe like a couple minutes to look through the sample books before she wanted us to make a decision. I was going to order a dress but there were limited patterns and I didn’t like any of them so I told her no dress and then she took me all around to the other shops in hopes I would find a pattern I did like. They were all basically the same and it took quite a few no’s before she said ok, again very pushy. The first fitting was good but the tops were definitely too tight in a couple places so I wanted them looser. She seemed ok with fixing one of the tops but the other she wasn’t as happy doing and the pants I thought were too long, but she said they would shrink in the wash (which not the case but it’s fine). The second fitting the tops were almost a little too loose but at that point I just didn’t care anymore. One of the tops had a weird boxy neck but they weren’t willing to do any more alterations and just said to iron it and it will fix it, which is not the case, it’s the stitching. They seem to come up with a lot of excuses not to fix something. So was I decently happy with my clothes? Yeah I guess but for tailored clothes I would want them to fit perfectly. Don’t trust them to do alterations because once you paid already they want you out of there as fast as possible. I think it’s a lot of places though not just this place. Lots of competition and unknowing tourists makes them quite aggressive. I brought different friends each time I went to a fitting and they tried to sell to them pretty hard as well. Just sucks because I was looking for a better experience and wish I liked the clothes better. Prices are the same as everywhere else. About $30 a piece, $60 for a dress I think. Honestly just go...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience so others can avoid a similar disappointment. I found Mrs. An’s shop through TripAdvisor, where it came highly recommended for customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.
Mrs. An was initially friendly and confident, assuring me she could provide exceptional tailoring as she is a tailor herself. She reassured me that she could replicate any garment based on a photo, so I felt comfortable proceeding with a custom two-piece jacket and short. However, at the second fitting, the jacket only vaguely resembled the reference photo, with different seam lines, pocket sizes, and collar. When I pointed out these discrepancies, she insisted it was still a "good" jacket, and I overheard her mutter "thật khó chịu," which translates to calling me difficult or annoying. I speak limited Vietnamese but could understand this, and it left a sour taste in my mouth.
After an uncomfortable exchange, she reluctantly agreed to make the adjustments I requested. Unfortunately, her attitude shifted noticeably in later fittings; she became dismissive of my feedback and seemed eager to finish the job quickly. Even at the final fitting, the outfit only somewhat resembled the original reference.
I was charged $95 USD for the outfit, but given my experience, I would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a tailor...
Read moreI got a two piece suit and a shirt for 3.2 million. Suit material 150s cashmere wool mix. Shirt material, I don't quiet know. Some mix of polyester, silk-linen and cotton. The price is alright I think. The store is a little less known, so you can get a good bargain. Don't expect to be properly guided through the process though. Know exactly what you want, be veeery precise and ask what percentages of materials are in the fabrics. Go in the morning when you are fresh in the head and don't get overwhelmed by the process and pressure. Prices might change from one time to the other, because some materials are not available anymore, or they advice you a different fabric, which might not exactly be what you want. Form a concrete wish, know your price and push it through. Also the details of your suit (buttons, style, etc.) because they will not ask you. The end results are decent, the fabrics are alright, and service is okay, the price is good.
Edit: today I tried the clothes the first. The fabric is barely breathable and I feel very uncomfortable just sitting in the shade in front of a fan. The percentage of synthetic fibers must therefore be very high. I have to take one more star, cause I got another fabric then what I asked for. If you mostly care about looks, the fabric is nice. No wrinkles and...
