We spent 7 nights here as a family of 3 and have nothing but amazing things to say about this resort.
The highlights:
By far the staff. Every staff that we encountered were friendly, courteous and provided impeccable service. Extremely professional and it never felt like they were short on staff at any given time, even during peak days when there were a lot of guests in the hotel. Great pool, great pool bar with happy hour 4-6pm and the drinks were delicious made with proper spirits not cheat ones. The hotel & facilities were really well maintained. It seems like they are constantly doing refurbishments which is also good to see. They were renovating the gym during our stay which meant that the temporary gym was set up in the basement. While this wasn’t ideal, the gym had new & great quality equipment (all Technogym) and the gym was always well air conditioned with lots of fresh towels & bottles of waters provided. We originally booked a garden room but received a complimentary upgrade to a river view room which was also a lovely surprise. It was great to watch the lantern boats cross the river at night, especially for my 6 yo daughter. Free mini bar which gets refilled daily was definitely a plus. Housekeeping was always on time and they provide a turn up and turn down service in the morning & evening. Restaurant at the hotel was actually really good. Not overpriced and good food. While there are many options to eat out in Hoi An near by, we still enjoyed quite a few meals at the hotel when we felt lazy or when it was too hot to walk around for my 6yo.
The lowlights/recommendations;
There were none from the hotel. However one older white lady with a fake Dior bag and her teenage daughter were constantly hogging the cabanas by placing their personal items on the beds then leave to go out / go to breakfast and be gone for hours while leaving other families without a place to rest, which is a pretty low act. I would strongly recommend the hotel to ensure that if people leave the pool that the beds/cabanas are made available to new patrons. I think that’s only fair, especially during peak times and in the middle of July when it’s scorching hot and people require shade when relaxing by the pools. The bridge to cross from the hotel into the main part of Hoi An is narrow and extremely busy as many others have mentioned. Just be mindful when crossing this bridge especially with little ones. Might be worthwhile providing more frequent shuttles from the hotel as the current shuttle only run a few times a day and not at very convenient times.
Overall, we loved our time at the Bay resort. It was a fantastic hotel and great value for money. We will definitely be back next time we...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying here for three nights last month during my multi-city Vietnam trip. Second time in Hoi An, first time at Moire, and all I can say is WOW. This hotel puts some of the best luxury properties in the US that cost four times as much to absolute shame.
The cleanliness is incredible. The service makes you feel like you're the one and only VIP guest. The golf cart shuttles and boat taxi are so convenient and thoughtful. My room was modern, luxurious, spotless, comfortable, and spacious. The pool with direct water views, evening lanterns, and ancient market backdrop? No other hotel offers this kind of magical setting. Honestly, no complaints whatsoever.
Every day I'd take a quick walk to the boat shuttle dock (less than three minutes) and cruise across to the ancient town. To give you perspective, there's a narrow walking bridge you can take, or you can enjoy the boat shuttle for about $7 USD round trip. I've paid more for a single cup of coffee in the States! The boat captain was incredibly kind despite the language barrier, going above and beyond to confirm pickup times since I was often his only passenger. I felt like true VIP.
I was lucky enough to book the lantern tour on this boat down the river (an absolute MUST with the hotel), and not only was it the last sunny evening of my trip, I was also the only guest on board! Talk about a magical experience.
The first night, I came down with a horrible fever and called the concierge for advice. Within minutes, staff arrived at my door with extra comforters, local hot ginger and honey tea, a thermometer, and they even adjusted my room temperature. They called periodically to check on me and reassured me that help was available 24/7 if needed. Being so far from home and traveling alone, this level of care was incredibly reassuring and touching.
A special shoutout to Louis, who would appear with a golf cart whenever it was raining without me even asking! He organized my coconut boat tour (another Hoi An must-do) and my lantern shuttle. After recovering from my fever, I wanted to dive into every excursion possible without the planning headache, and he made it seamless. He stayed in constant communication through WhatsApp, handling schedule changes with incredible service and attitude.
I always felt safe and cared for knowing the staff were always around, always greeting me warmly, and always just a message or call away.
I absolutely cannot wait to return and stay even longer. This place is truly special.
5/5 stars...
Read moreI would give this 4.5 out of 5, but I shall round it up!
It was a really comfortable stay. Our room was made up every time we left the hotel, not what I usually do (I don't like people coming into my personal space). Complimentary mini bar, which we love. There were beers, fizzy drinks, tea, chocolate, coffee, matcha biscuits, and potato chips.
Comfy bed and duvet. I wish the pillows were harder.
TV with lots of channels, with YouTube and Netflix available.
Great shower, a rain shower too. The bathtub was clean and spacious. Hair dryer, amenities.
Room for improvement: Water heater, it is inconsistent, hot, cold, sometimes super hot. To stock up the amenities. I didn't see the cotton buds at all, but my man said he saw and used some on the first day. Shampoo and bath gel quality could be improved. It seems like they are the same, but placed in separate compartments.
Swimming pool has different sections - jacuzzi with "private" areas, main pool, and a baby pool with waterfall feature. Water is heated.
Breakfast buffet changes each day, (YAY!) a wide selection of local (Vietnamese), Asian and Western food. WE HAD 2 SERVINGS OF SALTED COFFEE EVERY MORNING. A MUST-TRY!!!
Room for improvement: pastries (they were dry and hard. Even when we arrived early) staff were friendly, but we appreciate some quiet time in the morning, spending time with our family. Perhaps a good time to speak with us is before we leave or when we are finishing up, not when we just started eating with our mouths full. staff seems to memorise a script (we stayed 6 days), would be better if they can perhaps be more personal instead of the script: How many days? You can come here for lunch or dinner. What are you going to do today? Do you like the food/hotel?
Location is perfect! Close to the hustle and bustle but far enough to have some privacy and quiet time. It is also nice to see the main area from where we were across the river.
Minimart close by, exit hotel, turn right. Laundry as well, just next to the hotel, obviously cheaper that the resort's.
The gym is extensive. Just remember to turn on the aircon upon entering. I was perspiring and only realised 30 minutes later that it wasn't turned on.
Strong WiFi. YAY!!!!
The welcome drink is AWESOME. Plus, the cold towel for you to freshen up!
Thanks for the great stay! Shoutout to the boss, fellow...
