My wife and I booked a Superior double room incl bfast here for 6 nights in February. We requested a transfer (for approx £12) by emailing the hotel and were met at Tan Son Nhat International airport as arranged. This proved to be a good move as the hotel was further from the airport that we had expected and the traffic was awful. ||||Check-in was quick and easy and we were given a room at the back of the hotel on a higher (10th) floor as requested. Our room was quiet and spacious with a large comfortable bed. There was a wardrobe (but no drawers), a fridge (no free drinking water!), kettle (cups, but no supplies), TV (some English channels), table and 2 chairs and complimentary flip-flops. There was no room safe but valuables could be kept at reception free of charge. The aircon, hairdryer and Wifi worked well. ||The bathroom had a shower/bath combo with good pressure and plenty of hot water. 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, a bathmat, 2 small soaps, 2 sachets shampoo, 2 toothbrushes and a comb were provided.||The cleaner came daily but did not clean the floors or bath and on one occasion left no towels or toiletries. However these were quickly obtained from reception.||||The breakfast area was on the ground floor. The breakfast buffet selection was small but adequate. You were offered a choice of eggs (fried, scrambled, omelette) cooked to order. The buffet itself consisted of 3 hot asian dishes, bread/toast, cakes (2 types), fresh fruit (usually watermelon), juice, (not replaced once finished), tea and coffee. Milk was kept behind the counter and you had to ask for it every time you wanted a splash in your tea or coffee.||There were 2 convenience stores close by (the Vinmart minimart across the street was cheaper than the CircleK) and there was a large Co-op supermarket at the end of the street (about 10 mins walk away).||||My wife and I thought this hotel was very good value for money. It was in an excellent location and staff were friendly and helpful. We had an enjoyable stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or staying here again if we are in the area. This review is based solely on my experience and I hope you have...
Read moreThe problems started immediately upon checking in.We were shown to a room with a queen-sized bed. I told them I'd reserved a room with two beds. We were immediately taken to another room, this one with two beds. We were happy. However... the next morning we were told that we were in the wrong room... and were ordered to move, yet again... to a third room. I complained that a “Good" hotel would never make guests move to yet another room, because of the hotel's own mistake. The hotel has a total *** running the front desk during the morning hours. He is loud and rude. It was He that made us move rooms... twice. The hotel is supposed to offer housekeeping service on a daily basis. We had it ONCE.Unfortunately, I had a case of diarrhea, and soiled the bed linens. The next day, sheets were not changed... simply left soiled. I complained, and was told that I'd have to pay for the "ruined" sheets. I washed the sheets myself in the bathtub. Not only that, but I got them perfectly clean. The hotel, however, said that I had to pay for them as they could not be used again. I had given them an envelope with our passports and money to be kept in the safe. Now they had a bargaining tool. Pay 40 dollars for the sheets, or you don't get your passports back. I went to the police to complain. I was refused. The police would not help. I finally had to pay 30 dollars, just to get our passports back. Illegal Extortion.HORRIBLE treatment by extortionist staff. I told them that better hotels put a list on the wall, explaining that damages must be paid for. This hotel had No Such list. ATTENTION: Stay away from this hotel. No Hot Water... ever. The manager's mother...
Read moreNice Budget rooms which are clean and comfy. Rooms aren’t too small like some that I have seen. Had a good problem with the aircon being too cold even at highest temp and lowest fan setting. Beats having it too hot imo.
Ratings (out of 5) Room size : 4 relative to the price the rooms seem pretty decently sized. Prolly around 50 sqm inclusive of the toilet.
Fittings : 4 working aircon, taps, water heaters, plugs etc. My room door can’t close completely even though the door could be locked though. Has a working albeit not very cold refrigerator
Cleanliness : 4.5 it’s very clean. No rodents or pests visible. No foul smell either.
Service : 5 staff are friendly, polite and efficient.
Vincity : 4 there’s a few convenience stalls really close by with circle k being the best of the lot. There’s also a 24 hour pho store just opposite. Not the best but decent if you want a hot meal in the middle of the night. It’s also within a walking distance to Ben Thanh market.
Price : 5 really good value for such a Budget price. Also they may allow late checkouts for a percentage of the room rate. Check w the counter.
Note to travellers : Vietnam uses a two pin plug. So do get an adapter to convert your plug pin heads into what the locals use.
There’s also a rooftop bar nearby with plenty of scantily clad women during the night time. Female travellers...
