Shocking level of complacency with regard to comfort of their guests. I'm a small business owner and deal in customer service on a daily basis and this was the worst I've experienced, ever.

We booked 5 nights. Here are the animals we encountered in our expensive, dated, unsealed, dimmly lit, ancient shack on the beach:- Cockroaches from drains constantly and living in the bed frame. Millions of agressive mosquitos, we had to buy two plug in deterants, insect sprays, insect repellents, slam door closed immediately after entering etc and we still got biten all over constantly. Large long centipedes crawling out from under the bed. Giant and many many lizards and Geckos inside the room all day and night. Spiders and flies.

We had to keep everything off the floor. We had to close all bags and washbags and seal shoes in bags. To be honest we got used to the geckos but everything else was unacceptable.

Unfortunately it wasn't just the animals it was the staff that were unwelcoming. After enduring two nights I spoke to the management and said we were going to have to leave, I offered to pay for the third night despite us leaving and can we please have a refund for the 4th and 5th to help cover the cost of another hotel. They refused. I then asked if we could go halves on the remaining nights (we booked two days before while on the island so it is very likely the room was going to be empty anyway) but again no offer of any recompense. Disgraceful. The final straw was that they offered a weak free cocktail each eve between 4pm and 5, I went to collect ours at 5.05pm one day and they rudely barked at me "no too late!".

Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere...

We stayed one week in this hotel and overall we really enjoyed it. The beach area and pool is the highlight because most of the other hotels have a very ugly beach without much space. Here you will get a very large beachfront with enough space to breath. Annoying is only how selfish many guests are because they occupy the beach chairs in the morning and don't show up until lunch (but that's a different story and surprisingly not only Germans are doing that haha). Regarding housing I read some comments about old interior that is not working well. We did not have any problems and I liked the cosy and not so modern athmosphere. The restaurant was overall good but the meals are a bit adopted to western style which I'm not a big fan of. Staff was very friendly however I had many, many, many misunderstandings because they often speak only a few English words and if they do not know what you are talking, they just say yes :) The resort also does not have any scooters which I did not like as I'm not a big fan of leaving my passport in a rental shop. Rental can be done almost at every other hostel if you walk...

We came here for lunch, in fact the second time. We had a Curry here 2 days ago and it was delicious. The location is gorgeous. We decided to go back to with some friends we ordered the shared seafood platter for 2 and 2 orders of the same Curry. The seafood platter that came out was not fresh and very stingy for over 500 k. One curry came out tasty the next one was completely bland. When we explained it to the waiter there was some confusion which is understandable because our Vietnamese is elementary, at the same time two dishes should not come out tasting completely different. We had 20 minutes of a back and forth, until we showed that we were writing a low star review. The manager came and we explained what went wrong he returned the curry spiced up and also deducted the price of the shared platter. In summary location is great, some dishes are dilicious but you have to be careful with what you order, and be aware that the service is not up to international standards even though...

We were very happy with our choice - especially after having a look around the island where frankly there isn't too much to see apart from beaches and as our beach was as good if not better than all the others we saw we ended up staying here for 5 out of 6 days on the island. The bungalows are nice and spacious and comfortable but the draw card is the beach. Looking at our immediate neighbours it's the best by far. The sunsets are beautiful and the atmosphere around the place very chilled. The restaurant is very good and the prices quite reasonable compared to the off beach restaurants around. Although Phu Quoc could never be regarded as a cheap place in comparison to the rest of Vietnam. If you want a place to chill this is a good choice

Great, quiet spot. A perfect place to chill. You will automaticly lower your voice as this place gives you the calm, quiet peace you dont find at bigger hotels. The comfort of having your own house with a terrace and overlooking «your» garden. A beach with superb sunbeds and a staff that are so kind and conserned about you having a good time. Delightful breakfast and a really good kitchen for your supper.
