I was a member of Goodlife Queen St in Brisbane CBD, and I had one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a gym. In early April, my $38 weekly payment wasn't processed, even though I had over $100 available in my account. Due to this error—clearly caused by the billing provider’s system—I was charged a $10 default fee. I provided screenshots proving I had sufficient funds at the time of the charge. Still, the payment was marked as “insufficient funds,” and I was charged another $10, with a promise of a refund. After many emails—where I had to justify something that obviously wasn’t my fault—the $38 refund only appeared in my account days later, which added to the confusion. The worst part was continuing to receive emails stating that I was in debt, including one that incorrectly claimed I owed $83 (which they later admitted was a typo). I was treated like someone trying to avoid payment, when in reality, I was just trying to understand why their system failed. What made it worse was the defensive tone in their replies, as if I was making unreasonable demands. They asked for evidence—I provided it. They admitted it wasn't my fault—yet they kept billing and pressuring me. I felt disrespected, embarrassed, and extremely stressed throughout this entire situation. The lack of organization and empathy from the team handling billing is unacceptable. I’m tired and disappointed. If you can’t even process a simple automatic debit properly, why collect bank details at all? I absolutely do not recommend this gym. The facilities may be fine, but the customer service and administrative support are severely lacking. I will not be returning.

I recently joined GoodLife Health Club on Queen Street and I have been thoroughly impressed with my experience so far. The facilities are fantastic, with a wide range of equipment and amenities that cater to all fitness levels and goals. The staff at GoodLife are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to understand your fitness goals and provide personalized advice and guidance. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced gym-goer, they are always available to answer questions and provide support. The gym itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The equipment is modern and well-kept, making each workout enjoyable and effective. The variety of classes offered is also impressive, with options for cardio and strength training One of the standout features of GoodLife Health Club is the sense of community. The members are friendly and supportive, creating a welcoming and motivating environment. The staff also organize various events and challenges, which adds an extra layer of fun and engagement to the overall fitness journey. Overall, I highly recommend GoodLife Health Club on Queen Street. It offers a comprehensive fitness experience with top-notch facilities, knowledgeable staff, and a supportive community. If you're looking to achieve your fitness goals in a comfortable and motivating environment, this is the place to be! Special mention to the staff ( sarah ,kiki and maria)and personal trainers (Scott Vriens,Jackson,Yasmien and Jaiden)

Went to Goodlife on queens for a casual workout and what a great facility. Everything that you could want with plenty of pin loaded weight machines and free weight section. A great selection of cardio including a good number of steppers which are always popular. There at 6am on Friday and not busy at all. Overall, a great gym and would join if I lived in Brisbane.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Sauna Policy Violation

I am writing to express my concern regarding an incident at your facility on [02/12/2024 ], around 4 p.m. in the unisex sauna. Two male individuals were wearing wet underwear, which goes against the established guidelines.

Despite my complaint to the reception and the staff’s intervention, these individuals continued their behavior for another 25-30 minutes, making the environment uncomfortable for other guests. This is not the first occurrence; my girlfriend has had to leave the sauna on two previous occasions due to similar situations.

Today my girlfriend couldn't use the gym because of this situation, it's very frustrating to pay for the gym and not use it because there are men who don't respect women.

I urge you to address this issue promptly. I suggest informing the individuals involved via email about the correct sauna attire and considering stricter enforcement of the rules, including membership cancelation for repeated violations.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

I came to write a review here because I spoke to the reception and the action he took did not solve the problem. He just went there, spoke and left. he didn't make the guy put on his shorts and respect them, you know? He just spoke and left, that's why I came here and wrote the review.

It's been 2 months since I complained about the notice in the sauna and still nothing has been done, the gym manager told me that he would do his job, but it seems like he doesn't care

I do not recommend any woman to go to the sauna because you might find a man in his underwear in the sauna.

Sincerely,

[Romer ] 29/05/2025 To this day, the sign in the sauna stating that the sauna is unisex has not been posted. Men continue to use the sauna in their underwear. In the sauna that should be for men and women to use. Very disrespectful. The gym has three exercise bikes, one of the bikes has been broken for over a year. I have already asked the employees to put up the sign, but they never do and they still don't fix the bikes in this gym. It's a joke.

08/08/2025 This situation happened a few times before, and so did all the other receptionists. They did it differently, just asking for my phone number to confirm it was me. Today, I arrived at the gym and met with Jennifer, the receptionist. She told me that to get into the gym, I had to take the AAP card. I told her I didn't want to take it, that I'd like to give her my phone number and get in. And she started causing trouble. Because she wants to stand behind the reception desk doing nothing. Goodlife team Could you please provide her with the proper training so she can learn how to work at the reception desk? I think it’s good to be nice and polite to people, Especially to people who have been gym members for...

My experience at the Goodlife gym was horrific and a nightmare, the customer service was shockingly horrendous and disgraceful and I was a victim of a very serious physical assault that left me with a large wound that had to be reported to Police, as well as bullying and harassment by other members that was going on deaf ears, to the point that one staff member was even arguing to me not to report the assault' to Police. I have a right to work out in a safe friendly environment but they just don't care.

Further, when I made complaints about a Goodlife staff member being completely ignorant to the complaint I raised about a member's bullying aggressive behavior, the manager of the club not only disregarded my complaint about the staff member and the member's bullying behavior but she was also abusing me over the phone in retaliation because the staff member felt "uncomfortable" with the interaction I had with her.

Firstly, I couldn't give a stuff if the staff member felt "uncomfortable"- she didn't care about the discomfort I felt about being aggressively bullied and secondly, I was not in any way over the top, I had to keep repeating to the staff member about the bullying incident a number of times because she kept ignoring me and conversing about other things and I just finally said to her that I'll just make the complaint online given that she is not interested.

It doesn't end there, when I made the complaint about the Goodlife manager, the staff member and the member bullying behaviour, the regional manager contacted me by phone and it was again going on deaf ears and she was doing the same thing the manager was doing, arguing and complaining about the staff member feeling "uncomfortable" while overlooking my complaints about the bullying behavior and the staff members ignorant behavior.

I cancelled my membership and will never return to any Goodlife gyms ever again, this is just disgraceful, there attitudes are utterly disgusting, they don't give a stuff about the safety and welfare of...

Went here today and I do not have many good things to say about this gym. My friend has just moved to Brisbane and wanted to find a gym to go to. I and a friend of mine go to snap fitness but my friend who recently moved here wanted to try out goodlife before she decided to sign up for snap fitness. We saw that there is a free 5 day trial being advertised so we all decided to go and give the gym a try. As we were walking in there was a sign that said "scan here for your 5 day free trial". My friends and I signed up and filled out the form on our phones and walked to the front desk. I tell the front desk and tell her that we are here for the 5 day free trial. She says " you can't just walk in here" in a very rude manner and tells me to scan the qr code on the reception desk. I politely let her know that My friends and I scanned the qr code on our outside and pointed to the sign about 20 feet away. She replies "I don't know what your scanning you need to scan this here", again in a very rude manner. We fill out this new form and we let her know that after finishing the form it just took us to the beginning of the form again. She says "yea i know what happens", I was extremely shocked and the attitude this employee was showing at this point and right after saying this to me there was a member standing at the other side of the reception and she lets the member know that they need to come to the other side of the reception to scan their card. The member walks over scans the card and as soon as the customer turns her back the employee puts her hands on her head and whispers "F*UCK ME". Following this when i signed up for the trail another employee let me know that I am not allowed to make use of the 5 day free trial being advertised because I am a snap fitness member and said he would do me the favour of allowing me to workout there today. Would not recommend this...
