I've shopped at this store for a while now and have bought a fair few shirts and caps but I'm never coming back after today's experience. I bought a shirt back in April, it looked fine in store so I took it home, I didn't end up trying the shirt on at home till early June as I had Covid and was in an out of hospital. Once I tried on the shirt it was apparent that there was a big hole on the neck line of the shirt. So I took it back to the store expecting a refund as the product was obviously faulty. So I went back to the store in the city and the first woman I spoke to behind the counter was friendly, she checked the shirt and said it was faulty, she then went and asked another employee about what to do with the returns, the other employee came over and I explained the situation again. I calmy asked for a refund as the product was defective, however unlike his co worker he was incredibly rude. He looked at the product, agreed it was faulty but said he wouldn't give me a refund because I hadn't returned it within 30 days, I explained I had been sick and would have returned it earlier if I had the ability and I calmly told him that under consumer Law in Australia that dates are not applicable to products that are faulty and that it only applies to a change of mind, he scoffed and without any explanation just said no. I then asked what he proposed, he then said that I could only exchange it. So I asked if this meant I could have a gift card but he flat out said no and that I had to select an item/s that worked out to the same price as the 60 dollar shirt I bought and that I had till the store closed. This only gave me 20 minutes as the store was closing. I frantically rushed around just grabbing stuff I didn't even really need just so I wouldn't be stuck with a 60 dollar shirt with a giant hole. I raced to the counter and the same employee was needlessly rude and to add insult to injury gave me a free deck of playing cards saying "I'll just chuck these in for free" like somehow a 50 cent packet of playing cards would magically make everything alright. I remained calm and was completely respectful through the whole interaction so I'm unsure why I was treated with such disdain. I don't even care about an apology I just want my money back. I would definitely not recommend this place if this is how they treat refunds, I can only imagine how bad this could have been if I had bought a much more expensive item that...
Read moreRange of shoes is seriously lacking. They sell themselves as a jordan stockist but they basically had no jordans for sale, and when I asked about it, they said, not a chance, they sell out instantly, and no shops have jordans for sale. Yet I walk down to jd sports, foot locker and nike just down the road and they have jordans including 1's, 5's, 7's and others. Was so excited to come into the culture kings store but left massively disappointed. Oh, and the staff were totally disinterested and talking amongst themselves most of the time. But, on the positive side I picked up a pair of jordans from one of the other shops, so that made it worth the trip.
Edit in response to owner: Thank you for your prompt reply. While my in-store experience wasn't as expected, I will continue to support culture kings through its online store where I have had nothing but positive experiences thus far. There is no particular shoe I am after, just always on the lookout for them in general. In terms of staff, for the information of you, the owner, there were alot of staff on street level and lower level, however not one staff member on the top floor where the shoes were. I had to approach the desk to discuss shoes. I would assume that there should be at least one staff member on each floor. As I said earlier, the bricks and mortar store probably isn't for me, but I look forward to buying from you guys online again in the future. No need for any further reply from you. Best wishes going forward, and thanks again for the prompt...
Read moreAyo This is your girl Meredith Mendoza signing in. Whenever I need a phresh fit I run myself down to the Culture Kings store and I say hi to ma boy Terrence and he like, "What's poppin'?" My favourite rappers are Iggy - the dogg - Azalea. My favourite hobbies include walking in land fill zones, playing the keytar and reading books on Saturday nights instead of visiting the valley. Even though I never get the opportunity to wear your clothes outside and only in instagram posts, I still shop here 24/7. The staff are great! They always talk to me about current affairs, such as ISIS, Ebola and Kim Kardashian. My favourite Kardashian is Mason. He's got his head screwed on right. I ship him and Blue Ivy Carter. They will marry. I can assure you this. Mark my words; when Blue Ivy turns 18, they shall be wedded. Forever and never. Once I finish talking to Terrence I make my way to the wall of Bulls caps and my eyes open with bewilderment and my knees go weak. I walk over to the clothes rack and my inner goddess tousles the basketball jerseys with my long talons. After I exit the store I walk up the stairs back to reality, my eyes closed with a content smile on my face. It is then that I cry myself into a comatose state as I accept that I will never live up to the style and sophistication of ma man, TYGa.
Yours forever and...
