HOLY SMOKES. How good are the flavours of Gelato Messina?? Besides the extensive selection of gelato flavour staples, they offer new specials every week that are all incredible. Items like the Fat Elvis which is a combination of a a banoffee type gelato with deep friend brioche. We look forward to coming here at least once a week and have never ever been disappointed by the service or the gelato. Our favourites are the Salty Caramel Coffee, Salted Coconut with Mango Salsa, Apple Pie, Pear and Rhubarb. There are alway so many people but the staff magically move everyone along so quickly and efficiently. Oh, and is it me or do the staff all look like Italian Models?? The serving sizes are generous, the ice-cream consistency beautifully firm and cold. The flavours are absolutely mind blowing. It taste so fresh and authentic! The cones are passable but you really won't care given how wonderful the main act is! I love that they have seating available and everyone loves lounging around to enjoy their gelato while eyeing the selection for seconds. The decor of the place is akin to a fancy night-club. So modern, contemporary and cool. They offer an exquisite selection of gelato cakes that are the stuff of Master Chef. The pricing for the cakes are pricey but if I wanted something really special and artisan, this is where I would go. I love that there is a free self-service water dispenser considerably provided. This is our absolute favourite gelato place in Brisbane and I highly recommend it. You won't be...

Beware, ridiculous cake pickup policy. I ordered a cake online a few days ago and arrived at the store at the specified time to pick it up. There was a long queue almost going out to Cordelia Street. I went up to the counter and showed an employee my online order. Instead of passing me my order, the worker told me I had to wait in queue in order to pick it up.

I asked if he could just pass me my cake which was in the fridge directly behind him as I was parked in a loading zone and they provide no parking. I was told No because that was their store policy. I continued to plead with him to no avail. In this time he could have passed me my cake multiple times. So out I went to repark my car and queued up for 25 minutes as customers sampled and chose their ice creams. As I was lining up I saw at least 5 Ubereats drivers go to the counter directly and be given their orders immediately. I do not understand why they cannot do the same for a customer coming to pick up an order themselves rather than sending an Uber driver. It is exactly the same concept and to have 2 different policies regarding pickup is rather bizarre.

When I asked for my order again and it took less than 10 seconds for my order to be retrieved and passed to me. I will not be ordering a cake from them again until they change their...

My family and I had a very negative experience here due to poor customer service. Gelato Messina's usual service is to charge you for your ice creams as soon as it is scooped for you. My two sisters had paid for their ice creams earlier and were eating them a little way away from us. I went up to the counter and asked for 4 ice creams for family members. The lady scooped those out for me and then proceeded to charge me for 6 ice creams. Odd mistake, but I clarified that my two sisters had paid for their ice creams, as per their usual service to charge you for your ice creams immediately. She looked at me in a very distrusting way and asked if I was sure. I called my sisters over and they confirmed that they had paid however she still didn't believe us and asked who had served us. She asked the wrong server, came back to try to charge us again before locating the right person. This was entirely ridiculous as the server only scooped out 4 ice creams - did she really believe that two of my sisters received ice creams and just walked away? A simple 'sorry' was not enough to amend the situation and we truly did not appreciate the lack of trust...

Well, when in Melbourne st.. chances are that when crowds consistently line up out the door and they have crowd control... it'll be good! Despite being full from dinner, the opportunity to find out what was so good was too hard to resist! Ice cream too hard to resist! Particularly loved the seasonal specials! Well worth lining up and waiting for! Can be a challenge to get a seat, so be prepared to eat as you stroll to your next stop.

Supremacy in Gelato, Sorbet and Dessert. The South Brisbane venue doesn't disappoint and stands up to the constitution of this well known brand. A masterclass in marketing a boutique experience every time. I've never walked down to this venue without the expectation of 'the line', but it moves quickly and let's face it I would stand in the pouring rain to get to the flavour cabinet at any Messina's! Styled in timber and stone with the famous custom Mid Century display wall, filled with genuine collectibles. A classy nod to the Italian heritage and consistency of the brand. It's a vibe at night, dimly lit with accents of subtle illumination. The line moves quickly and you can peak through the glass windows to peruse the flavours. This time one of the weekly specials is "Gucci Nonna", the name itself has me sucked in along with a classic. I prefer to cone. Old school. Delicious. Staff are excellent, knowledgeable, accommodating. The industrial kitchen and everything surrounding is durable and immaculately clean.
