Could be good but needs major work

I have no idea how this place has 4+ stars average. It is possible we went on a bad day but here’s my review.

The good: The 4 interactive games are great. Allowing 7 minutes per game means you get a pretty solid turn at them as well. That’s about where the good ends.

The bad: When we arrived we were given wristbands and ushered in with zero explanation on how to navigate the place. A simple explainer would’ve let us navigate the place better and with less frustration over missing start times etc.

Any space other than the games feels pretty cheap. There seems to be a lot of staff but they were often absent when needed. They often put us in the game rooms without explaining how to play, and the video explainer volume is so low, you can’t hear it over the ambient noise.

We booked a time slot thinking it mattered, but they kept letting people in and the venue seemed entirely overbooked. Whilst 7 minutes per game is great when you’re actually in the game, waiting behind 2-4 groups per room means way too much downtime between games. Given each room runs the same time length, it’s a shame they don’t limit numbers to allow an efficient swap over of groups every 7 minutes. For 5 games rooms there was at least 30 groups of people in the venue.

The REALLY bad: The Dreamverse movie is pretty underwhelming but I suffered through it for the kids - however there was another family with a neurodiverse child who got extremely overwhelmed and upset at one stage and tried to exit the movie via the emergency electric door. There was two exits and BOTH WERE LOCKED despite pressing the emergency exit button many times. The poor kid had to suffer an extra 5 minutes overstimulated whilst sobbing in fear. If there was a fire we would’ve all been DEAD. I immediately flagged this with one of the staff members who told me there was an emergency exit button - I reiterated that we were all pressing it but the doors wouldn’t open. I even tried to force the doors open and couldn’t. The staff member said “oh” and walked off in a semi daze. I doubt this was escalated. I hope management sees this review and amends this serious life hazard/risk.

In the spinning room one of the LED light strips was hanging off the wall meaning our family kept getting caught in a light strip as we spun. There was a pathetic attempt at sticky tape holding it up indicating this was a known issue that hadn’t been properly amended. Another risk.

Overall: this is a tourist trap with a couple of fun moments amongst hours of waiting for a turn and serious threat to life. 0.5/5. DO NOT RECOMMEND. If you enjoy games, try something like Hotel Hijinx - cleaner, safer, and runs like clockwork.

Dear Dreamskape Team,

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the experience my group and I had at your Docklands venue on Wednesday 16th July at 6:00 PM. I kindly request that a representative from your Head Office contact me to further discuss this matter.

In preparation for our visit, I personally attended the venue on Thursday 10th July to speak with staff and confirm the details of the $40 one-hour challenge room package for a group of 12. I was informed at that time that booking this package in advance was not possible online, but that attending at 6:00 PM would not be an issue. Based on this information, I proceeded to organise a group outing.

Upon arrival on the 16th, my group was repeatedly met with conflicting information and discouraging responses from your staff. We were initially told that we could not purchase the 1-hour package as the venue closes at 7:00 PM. When I pointed out that we had arrived promptly at 6:00 PM, I was told the venue actually shuts 20 minutes prior to 7:00 PM to allow for cleaning and closing. This was not previously communicated, nor is it listed on your website.

After I explained that I had both visited and called in advance to confirm that a 6:00 PM start would be acceptable, I was then told that four of the challenge rooms were out of order and that it wouldn’t be worth our time to play. Despite this, I stated we were still happy to proceed, as we had all gathered specifically for this activity. Finally, I was told that the venue was “too busy” and it would be better for us to come back the following day.

At every stage, my group was met with inconsistency and a clear lack of willingness to accommodate us, despite our flexibility and preparation. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially given the prior efforts made to ensure everything would run smoothly.

I would appreciate a formal response addressing the following:

Why does your website list the closing time as 7:00 PM when the venue in practice ceases service earlier? Were four of the challenge rooms indeed out of order on the evening of Wednesday 16th July? Why is the $40 package not available for online booking? Why was my group, having followed the guidance provided by your staff, effectively turned away with little accountability or attempt to resolve the situation? I look forward to hearing from you and hope this matter will be taken seriously.

The indoor setting does limit the scale of the coaster compared to traditional outdoor rides, but it still manages to deliver an exciting experience in a confined space.

Overall, the Dream Indoor 3D Roller Coaster is a fantastic addition to any indoor amusement park or entertainment center.
