Paid $42 today for 2 chicken breasts and a dozen eggs. Bit ridiculous so will be our last time getting ripped off here. Was in another shop in Prahran a little later (not a food shop) and was chatting to my son about how crazy the price was. The shop assistant and another customer overheard me complaining about paying $12.50 PER chicken breast and they asked if it was Hagen’s meats I was talking about… No jokes! They both had similar experiences, one with a small chicken priced at over $60 and the other punter had also been ripped off before. Read moreBought a whole chicken from Hagen’s in Prahran Market yesterday and asked the butcher to split it up for me. This is what I got (see photos).
Instead of breast, thighs, drumsticks etc (like how normal butchers do it), they carelessly chopped up a whole chicken into 16 little pieces with the carcass still attached.
I couldn’t make heads or tails of what was what. You can tell from one of the photos that they actually gave me one and a half drumsticks - no idea where the rest of it went.
After spending $37 dollars on a whole chicken I’m left without a single piece or cut that I can make out much less use. A massive thumbs down...
