Sydenham — Local services in Sydney

I had been waiting for the metro to open so I could properly review this station and capture everything. This is a lovely station. I'm particularly fond of the older brick buildings on the platforms, which I assume were built alongside the original station. Initially, I was concerned that the older structures might not blend well with the newer additions, such as the metro platforms and the new concourse connecting them to the older part of the station. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The contrast between the old and new actually enhances each element, making it feel as though I'm experiencing two different eras of Sydney trains. Sydenham Station is a great train station close to the city. It services the T3, T4 and T8 lines so it is a good interchange station without having to change at Redfern or Central Station. There is a takeaway shop on the concourse selling hot foods and drinks. Every platform has vending machines for drinks and snacks. Because it is an old station some of the platforms have waiting rooms which have partially been converted to toilets. All platforms have stairs but there are elevators too. Very cool station. It’s upgrading soon for Metro as station is under construction at the moment but still trains are running and can be catch train for any suburbs and city. Easy access on platforms and the most beautiful thing about this station is that you will see every time airplane flying over you because airport is close from here.
