We had the absolute pleasure of having Chris from Feather and Bone cater my daughter’s birthday yesterday, and I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the entire experience.
From the moment Chris arrived, his professionalism, warmth, and passion for his craft were evident. He brought not only incredible skill but also a genuine energy that added something truly special to our celebration. Every dish he prepared was cooked to absolute perfection — fresh, full of flavour, beautifully presented, and made with the kind of care and attention you rarely come across these days.
Chris was completely in tune with the atmosphere of the day — discreet when needed, engaging when appropriate, and completely focused on making sure everything ran seamlessly. It allowed us, as hosts, to actually relax and enjoy our guests, knowing the food and service were in the best possible hands.
Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food, with many commenting that it was some of the best they’ve ever had at a private event. It honestly felt like we had a fine dining experience brought into our home, yet somehow it remained warm, humble, and family-oriented — exactly what we had hoped for.
A huge thank you to Chris and the team at Feather and Bone. You helped turn a special day into an unforgettable one. We are already looking forward to the next event with you!
If you are considering catering, trust me — you won’t find better. Chris is a true professional and an absolute credit to...
Read moreThirty years ago, I was the food editor of a magazine. When writing recipes calling for eggs, poultry or pork, I would always stipulate ‘free range if possible’, it was hard to find and purchase non factory farm produced items at that time. Then in 2006 Feather and Bone opened and I have been devoted ever since. It is baffling to me, that people who adore their cat or dog, and extend it every kindness and care, can be unmoved by the cruelty afforded to factory farm animals. For me the original draw of Feather and Bone was the ethos around animal wellbeing. It is a valuable bonus, that all the farmers who supply Feather and Bone, treat the land they farm with the great respect and care, that they do their animals. Of course it follows, that Feather and Bone conduct their business with these farmers with respect and regard, unlike the supermarkets. And guess what.......everything just tastes soooo much better! Well done Feather and Bone for your vision in 2006, and your relentless persistence every day since , in the pursuit of the good, the kind and the honourable in the food production industry.    Read moreWhile we've been shopping at Feather and Bone for years - and love their work - I rarely write reviews. But the cotechini they made for me recently, as a special order, was so outrageously good I felt I owed it to the rest of Sydney to get the word out. Partly in the hope that this will generate sufficient demand that cotechino will feature regularly in their winter offerings. Until then, I got four, beautifully made 1.5kg sausages. I served one last Saturday on a bed of braised Mount Zero puy-style lentils (picked up from their Marrickville store), Feather and Bone's own salsa verde and some mostarda di frutta (from another vendor). Along with a good red it was a spectacular start to a special family meal. My guests were in food heaven. In the meantime, the second cotechino is destined to be the centrepiece of an loosely Italian 'NY in July' gathering. So I'll be going back for more lentils, salsa verde and probably some porchetta to follow. Because you can never get enough porky goodness. Grazie mille, F&B team, for your outstanding produce...
