I was looking for a ski trip for my family in Lech, as I felt it was a perfect high-end and relatively a quiet place for families. I found Berghotel Sonnblick amongst my research. It is basically a home, not a hotel! ||It is run by a local family. Well, most of the work is done by super Monika! I frankly believe the hotel should be called Hotel Monika! She is literally everywhere, all the time, making sure that every guest is having the best service possible. The other staff also are extremely helpful, but I should give most of the credit to Monika. She responded very fast to my emails prior to our arrival. She helped me with some issues, and was waiting to greet us along her husband once we arrived. ||We booked a family room, that is about 35m, and very well managed space-wise. It has a small separate children room with a bunk bed, cupboard, and a Tv. The other part is the main bedroom with a king size bed that has separate single duvet blankets. This is much easier than sharing a king size duvet blanket. The other half is a small couch with a desk and a Tv. There is a big balcony that is accessible to all rooms. The bathroom however is very small, but is not that bad at all. Finally, there are cupboards with plenty of hangers in the hallway entrance. Also, there is a mini safe box, but it is very small. I wish it was bigger.||The room rate includes a daily breakfast that is being cooked to every guest’s desire separately. Also, there are selections of bread, and cold meat.||Monika also booked us each night a different restaurant for dinner for 4 nights, including the last one in the hotel. It was a very enjoyable Fondu night!||They also have a ski store room, where we stored our ski equipments after skiing. They have heaters while hanging them, so you will pick them up dry the next morning! We rented our equipments from Strolz, which had outstanding service and very well-kept ski equipments. However, Strolz is the most expensive shop amongst all ski rental shops in Lech. You may find other shops that rent ski equipments for less of course.||Everything in town is accessible by walking. However, the walk to the ski lift is little bit long, that is about 10 minutes. You can ask a taxi to take you there for €10 too.|There is also a Spar Supermarket that is very close to the hotel.||I booked my child’s ski lessons with a group of Children with Ski Schule Lech (Review available in my profile). It was excellent, and I highly recommend them. There are other ski schools in Lech of course.||I booked my wife’s private ski lessons with Stuben Ski School. The instructor picked up and dropped my wife each day from/to the hotel lobby. I highly recommend them, but also there other ski instructors to choose from.||You may reach the hotel from the closet international airports Zurich (Around 2 hours or more) or Munich (About 3 hours or more) by car. However, Innsbruck airport and Friedrichshafen airport each about 1 hour and a half approximately by car, unfortunately they are reachable only by European air lines like Lufthansa, KLM, or British Airways. Lech is also accessible by train, with Langen Am Arlberg and St. Anton stations being the closest. You have to drive about 25-30 minutes by car to reach the hotel, or use the free shuttle in the high seasons.||Most importantly, Monika and the rest of her family made us feel as guests in a home, not a hotel! You will feel the warmth and home love definitely!||Last but not least, Sonnblick’s prices are less than their matching competitors in the area. So, what are you waiting for? All what was said above, and for a less price?! Go for it...
Read moreWe stayed in the Sonnblick for a week over Christmas 2018. We cannot speak more highly of our wonderful experience with this hotel and the hostess, Monika. |The rooms are well appointed with plenty of storage and a clean chic and simple feel. We stayed in a family room which had 2 rooms which could accommodate our family of 5. This included 3 teenagers. |The breakfast each morning was great with eggs made to order. |The Christmas Eve dinner was an absolute treat with the most magnificent fondue we ate throughout our week in Lech. |Lech is wonderful with fabulous skiing, gorgeous village and fabulous restaurants to eat in. We liked the fact that Sonnblick was not half board. Not only did it keep the price down, but we could experience other places to dine. |The position is amazing. A 5 minute walk to the village and main lifts. Ski in and ski out though if the snow is sparse, the ski out is a short walk. |We LOVED our stay and really felt so welcomed and looked after. We really hope to come back one day....even though it is a long way...
Read moreWe have had great holidays in Lech in the last 12 years. We have visited most restaurants and Lech is famous for “Gastfreundschaft”||Was tonight extremely difficult to find a restaurant and our host was able to book a table in this hotel. We were informed and accepted that the table was available between 1815 and 1945.||Our host started to push from the minute we entered the restaurant and even reminded us after 30 minutes and during our main course the we had limited time.||We decided to skip dessert and coffee and left at 1945. Enough tables were still available. The head host should take a course om Gastfreundschaft and specifically flexibility ||Suggest never to go here and order an excellent pizza at Don Enzo and eat the pizza...
