Salzbergbahn — Local services in Hallstatt

It’s located at the end of Hallstatt. I recommend you buy round trip ticket and salt mine visit. If you have time and good ankle, you can choose to hike up or down and save 1 way ticket but note that not much if you still want to visit the mine (I heard the guide said up to 40mins to hike up). Price total is 40euro which the turned to very reasonable price for our experience. You have access to the skywalk- DO NOT queue for the spot taking pictures, it does not worth it. Just take few steps and try better spot, you will see the difference. You still need to hike 650m UP to the mine and few hundreds meters during the tour so you do not want high heels or uncomfortable shoes. Inside the mine is cold (8 degree celsius), they will give you more clothes but be prepared for 1 hour and a half with this. when I wanted to buy a ticket for the funicular and the salt mine a few days ago, it showed me that a lot of times were taken. Rearranging plans to accommodate the possibility of visiting the salt mine, I picked up tickets for the funicular at 1:30 p.m. We arrived half an hour before our appointment and found the line even longer than in the picture, since I took the picture when it was my entry appointment. I asked the extremely rude cashier where the online reservation line was, she just said go to the end, without any desire to help with an explanation or the like. I mean, why make an appointment online if it's not going to be honored and I'm going to wait in an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment.
