The cream horns from this little pastry shop are truly unforgettable. I visited in December 2024, right around Christmas, and had one for breakfast — and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Nearly a year later, in October 2025, I felt compelled to come back here just to leave this review.
The pastry itself was perfectly buttery, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth, balanced with a cream filling that was rich yet not overly sweet. It was such a flawless combination.
Since that visit, I’ve traveled through over seven countries and countless cities, always on the lookout for another cream horn that could compare. Nothing has come close. This one set the bar so high that it lives rent-free in my mind to this day.

We ordered two schaumrolls, an egg tart, a pain au chocolat, two americanos, and an iced latte. The schaumrolls were the highlight. Flaky pastry with a light marshmallow-like filling that was not too sweet. The egg tart was not for me since it was a bit too eggy, but my husband and daughter loved it so I was outvoted. The pain au chocolat was also delicious.

The tarts were really buttery and fragrant, and 2x nicer when its fresh out from oven (They replenish quite quickly so worth the wait!). Needless to say this is one of the best tarts I have ever eaten so far, and a trip to Hallstat is nothing without having it to fill the stomach.
On top of this, the male staff serving us was nice and pleasant. Little details do count. For example, he told us to be real careful with the tarts that were freshly baked from the oven to avoid burning ourselves.
