Today, 24th of July, 2016 in the afternoon around 3:30pm local time. My friend and I enjoyed a great day in beautiful and unforgettable Salzburg, along with our Austrian hosts. We decided to go to the Fürst shop to buy the famous local chocolates to take home. We came out of the shop regretting ever being in the shop. While we were choosing the package, the only lady in charge in the shop suddenly abandoned her paying customers and jumped on us. Surprising me with harsh pull on my shoulder strap of my purse from behind, she quickly switched two packages I misplaced on the shelf. I did not know what she was saying, but her body language was unmistaken. She was very angry that I messed up her shelf during my selection. I remembered saying sorry to her, but immediately wanted to take the sorry back. Having an Asian face does make me very sensitive to this kinds of treatment, but up to this moment, I have felt very welcomed by Austrians. I hesitated a great deal on whether I should buy anything from her. As I am very aware that her behavior towards me and my friend did not represent the company and the most of Austrians she is part of. I ended up buying the chocolates because I thought that my family and friend could enjoyed it and she should not be the one who prevented me from doing so. But I have to admit that I still wonder if there was better explanation of her behavior. I am very hopeful that other Austrians will make me feel better again. From Chicago, USA. Btw, the shop was located at the end of the famous street where we came down from the top of the mountain...
Read moreThis shop is one of only four locations in the world that sell the original Mozart Chocolate, making it a rare and special destination for chocolate lovers. The storefront is quite eye-catching, with a charming display that draws you in and creates a sense of old-world elegance fitting for such a renowned brand.
However, the customer service experience doesn’t quite match the inviting appearance. The staff were rather reserved and didn’t offer much in the way of a warm welcome or interaction. When placing an order, they simply handed over the chocolate you pointed at, without much conversation or enthusiasm.
That said, if you’re a fan of Mozart Chocolate or simply curious to try a piece of this world-famous confectionery, it’s still worth a visit. Just be prepared for a straightforward, no-frills service focused entirely on the...
Read moreWe came here looking for a quick snack before dinner because we heard such good things about the hot chocolate, however, our experience was anything but good.
Our server started out by talking in a very rude tone to our group and muttering things under his breath as we ordered. He acted very passive aggressive the whole time we were there. When he brought our pastries and drinks to us, he practically threw them onto our table and acted very curt with our group.
Aside from the poor service, we noticed other people in the restaurant staring at us the whole time we were there. They even brought over their server to point us out, and they all stared at us.
The hot chocolate was pretty good, but the pastries...
