We spent 6 nights in October 2024 in Boutiquehotel am Dom. You can get a really good feel for a hotel in that amount of time. And the feeling that we got was great!!! The staff, from the cleaning lady to the desk people to the owner, all went out of their way to make our stay really good. They did all the things a good hotel should do. They made restaurant reservations for us, gave us directions, made breakfast eggs the way we asked, etc etc. This is a small hotel (15 completely remodeled, attractive and modern rooms) located in the heart of the Old City. We have been to Salzburg many times and their location is where you want to be. Just walk out of the front door and into Mozartplatz and all the things you will want to see in central Salzburg-Altstadt are there. And if you want to take public transportation to any of the attractions around Salzburg, the bus stop at the Rathaus is a 3 minute walk. Getreidegasse (the main street in Altstadt) is a 3 minute walk as well. And it is a quiet hotel even though it is centrally located. The windows are not only modern and double-paned, but there are two of them, one in front of the other. So even though our room was above Goldgasse, we never heard much of anything. It is also one of the few hotels that has air conditioning for the summer months.|On a special note of thanks: I did not feel well on our last day there and the owner was kind enough to drive us to the hospital! Everything worked out OK, but I am grateful for his kind assistance and concern.|In summary, we think that this is a...

Boutique in name only.

Pros: just like real estate, location, location, location. Staff friendly and courteous. Rooms and hotel clean.

Cons: stayed in room 410 early January 2019. Even though the heat was completely turned off, room was unpleasantly warm for sleeping. Management's solution is to open windows to a busy street with a lot of overnight foot and delivery traffic. Need ear plugs to sleep. Bathroom while clean misses many of the "boutique" amenities. Shower supplies is just a single multi purpose bath and shampoo wash. Should be individual body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. No bathrobes. Not typically provided in run-of-the-mill hotels, but definitely expected if you advertise yourself as being boutique. (As mentioned in other reviews) no tea/coffee maker and ingredients. No night manager, thus no wake up call for early departures. Don't understand why phone system cannot be programmed to call rooms at a designated time. Room has smart energy savings technology. Need to insert your room key in to a reader to enable power. This is useful to prevent running the air conditioning unit unnecessarily in warm weather, but they went too far in power management. In particular all outlets are powered off when the key is not present, thus you cannot leave electronic devices charging without the key...

Stayed here for a few nights while visiting Salzburg. Absolutely great hotel to stay at. Conveniently located close to everything at the heart of Salzburg. Absolutely would stay here again without hesitation. Rooms are modern with everything you need amnesties wise. Breakfast was excellent and blew my expectations in terms of service. Everyone was very polite and helpful. Front desk staff were very courteous and provided recommendations for lunch and dinner options nearby. Rooms were clean and I didn’t have to ask for fresh towels daily, they were provided without a question. Rooms are a good size for a couple. My only gripe, and its very minor - I wish the tvs in the room were smart enabled so you could run your favorite tv apps, as all the channels provided are in their native language (minus a few news channels). Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this...

We visited Salzburg back in January 2023 and stayed for 3 nights. One of the best, friendliest and most personable hotel we have come across in our travels. Josef, his daughter and his associate were so helpful and friendly that it made our stay special and memorable. They would prepare our delicious breakfast with eggs, cold cuts, fruits, breads and pastries, hot beverages and whatever we needed with great care. The hotel is nice and clean and in such a beautiful part of town. It is convenient and walking distance within old and new town. We did not need a car to explore even when it snowed everyday, throughout our stay. We will definitely be going back to Josef's beautiful hotel on our next visit. Thank you for such a wonderful impression of Austrian hospitality.

Our 2 night stay in Salzburg was wonderful and our stay with Boutiquehotel 🏨 am Dom was VERY good. The city is really beautiful. The hotel was recently completely remodeled and our room 616 on the top floor although windowless it had 2 skylights and we didn’t miss the windows at all, the room is worth it. It’s a well sized room, beautifully decorated with a giant hot tub in the middle of it. When you booked directly with the hotel, breakfast is included as well worth it. Fresh made omelettes and plenty of breakfast food to choose from. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Hotel is in a PERFECT location. If we ever come back this is where we will stay for sure. Nice job guys ❤️

Superb location, immaculate room, comfortable bed, and helpful staff. The rooms we booked are standard double. It’s not huge but has more than enough space to freely move around. The bathroom is very spacious and clean with good water volume. Since it’s located on one side of the Residenze plaza (as shown in one of the photos), all the major attractions of old town Salzburg are within minutes of walk from the hotel. You save a lot of time and get to explore the town and feel its charm when it’s very quiet in early morning and late evening (even during the peak travel season of July), which also means you don’t need to worry about street noise late at night.
