I absolutely loved the Gunda Gruber exhib that I went to see here. 1 museum, 2 locations, different exhibs at both, both worth visiting and close to each other. The other location is only 5 mins walk and a lift. You can hike up if you're feeling very energetic. Your ticket works for both and I think you can use it up to a week (Double check this at the desk). So you don't have to over-do it. The work was excellent and the museum isn't massive, so you can get a nice, bite-sized chuck of well displayed, good quality modern art in the beautiful city of Salzburg. Well worth a visit!

⛔️ CAUTION TO ALL TOURISTS! Do not take the elevator down from the museum as it 3.2 euros per pax!!! The counter ticket lady with specs (seen in this pic) was 100% racist and superrr arrogant. She had such an attitude chiding us about their "rules" on taking the elevator. Very weird btw, the elevator button is bigger than their prices and in no way self explanatory. They could better 1) Caution about the price to take the lift down 2) Not have such a despicable attitude towards paying patrons Absolutely RUINED our day at salzburg. Such a shame she is someone customer facing.

Fantastic unmissable modern art gallery in Stuttgart. It's split into 2 parts - one in the city centre and one newer and larger part perched on top of a cliff with magnificent views over the city. The clifftop part is accessed by a pedestrian lift. The entrance cost and the lift cost is included in the Salzburg card. The photos show both items from the permanent collection as well as from the social exhibitions on in December 2019.

Avoid! Paid 25 euros for 2 tickets, expecting it to be a nice gallery with good art where we could spend an hour or so enjoying the work. But actually there were only two or three rooms with some photos on the walls and a few video installations. It took no more than 10 minutes to look at everything (in fact 5 minutes would have been ample time). The quality of the artwork was very low. Just ordinary photos of mundane things, like buildings or park benches, and not even done in an artistic way. There is a room with several projectors set up and they just show film on a loop of people going down an escalator. That is literally it, just people going down an escalator. Nothing creative at all. And another room with a big projector showing a film of some ordinary street scene in what looks like Cuba, but it is just like an amateur home video taken of nothing particularly interesting at all. How this can be called art I do not understand, although I accept this is a question of personal taste, and I personally have always found conceptual art to be a waste of space. Visiting this gallery did put quite a dampner on our trip because it felt just like a tourist scam, although I'm sure that wasn't their intention. If you think conceptual art is great you might like this, but certainly you won't get...
