I never in my life experience the mistreatment from a hotel receptionist as I experienced here. It is a shame because the hotel is nice and its well located. The receptionist (Ada) insulted me and got very aggressive because I tried to explain that they had already pre-charged my card before arrival and she said "no you did not pay" and started insulting me out of nowhere. She said many guest get this attitude because the payment situation is complicated. So I ask you Hotel Elefant: Don't you think you are not explaining yourself clearly? If so many guests experience this confusion then you are doing something wrong. And on top of that, your receptionist INSULTS your guests. I was very upset but I did not disrespect her in any way, nor insulted her. She started yelling "you are horrible! you are horrible!!" she was out of herself! So out of proportion to the situation, I asked for the manager's contact and Ada said there is no manager that they are "organized like that". I hope this message reaches the manager, because I don't know of any hotel in the world that doesn't have a manager. This Ada person is not fit to work with people. I hope she gets help.

Updated: Thank you, Arnold, for your response below. Well is nice to see that there is a manager, even though your employee denied your existence when I asked for your contact. It is truly shameful to have experienced that, but what is even more shameful is to diminishing my review by saying that you never had a complain before about this employee. Well here is the complain! And I can see others complaining about the poor service-oriented attitude from your staff. I am glad that at least you will review your communication towards...

Fantastic location, hot shower though sadly that was as good as it got.

The hotel failed to meet expectations and I’d go as far as to say the management are being wholly dishonest in their marketing. Room so small we could not walk down by the bed without a sideways shimmy. Towels thin and like sandpaper. Cheap shower surround that did not shut as so the floor was constantly wet and slippery.

To be fair it was quite clean as long as you didn’t look on the skirting, hair dryer or any places above or below eye level.

For the price point unusually there were no toiletries except for shower gel. No tea and coffee making facilities.

The lighting was awful, could not see well enough to find things in my suitcase. There was nowhere to put the suitcase. Ridiculous wardrobe light which only comes on when you shut the doors so couldn’t see when trying to locate clothes.

Hotel security non existent- anyone could walk in.

Aside from the housekeeper who wished us a good day, staff barely acknowledged us.

Going by the other complaints we heard as we passed reception, we were not the only dissatisfied customers. Our complaint was entirely dismissed by the staff who clearly repeated a standard response. We travelled with friends who had a much bigger room at the same price point though experienced the same lack of facilities. Poor attention to detail. The bar was not open, the restaurant was separate to the hotel and not open every day. There was no lounge area.

Shame, I really wanted to like it and generally my experience of family run hotels is very...

This is a review for a family size suite (2 rooms connected). This was in a renovated part of the building, in the back. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms with very tall ceilings. The bathroom was very spacious, modern, and clean.|On finding the room - this part of the hotel where our room was located required a bit of sense of direction, but we were able to learn quickly how to find the room as you go go up and down several stairs and hallways. I had read about this in another review so was prepared in regards to the location. |There was enough space for everyone to sleep comfortable. |We found the beds very comfortable and everyone had their own comforter and reading light. |There is Air Conditioning and the main room was very comfortable. |The rooms were very quiet and relaxing, which was great since we spent most of the time exploring. |The location cannot be beat. It's in the heart of the older part of town which has amazing shopping, cafes, and is next to the DM (drugstore) in case you n need anything. It's also located to some beer gardens which is a plus. |We ate at the restaurant located there (but separate) several times for lunch and dinner, and we really enjoyed it. |The concierge were very helpful when we requested help with how and where to purchased out bus/metro cards and how to get to various placed...

Elefant Hotel Restaurant, Salzburg During our recent visit to Salzburg, we had the pleasure of dining at the Elefant Hotel Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! While I can't comment on the hotel accommodations, our lunch at the restaurant was truly a highlight of our trip. I ordered the creamy pumpkin soup for a starter while my husband had the beef broth with cheese dumpling. It was truly wonderful! For the main I ordered the fried salmon, which came beautifully plated with a rich potato gratin and a luscious lemon butter sauce, topped with capers. It was absolutely delicious! My husband chose the meat patties with creamy mashed potatoes, and remarked how tasty they were. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was fantastic as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth added to our dining experience. Our only regret is that we didn’t book a stay at the hotel! If the restaurant is any indication of the overall experience, I have no doubt it would have been wonderful.

Our three day stay could not have been better. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Martin who couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. This location is perfectly situated in the heart of Alstadt (Old Town) in Salzburg. We were able to walk everywhere from there. Parking is available but it's a bit of a hike since it's offsite. The hotel itself was built in the 800's but you'd never know it. All amenities are function perfectly including wifi. Gerhard was also extremely friendly and offered some great suggestions for things to do and see while visiting this amazing city. We were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness not just at the hotel, but Salzburg overall. It takes pride in its hospitality and cleanliness and was an absolute favorite during our trip. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with high end finishes and plenty of places to unpack. There is also a restaurant in case your too tired to get out. Make this hotel your first look when staying in the area. You won't be disappointed.

The hotel is conveniently located — all major sights are within walking distance. The staff were polite and attentive: they quickly helped with luggage storage, provided an umbrella, and called a taxi when needed. The room had everything necessary: slippers, toiletries, a shoehorn. The Villeroy & Boch shower cabin was a stylish surprise. Lighting was comfortable and well thought-out. No toothbrush or razor was provided, but that’s acceptable for a 4-star hotel. Breakfast was varied and high quality: smoked salmon, cheeses, cold cuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, pastries, eggs on request, granola, nuts, dried fruits, a coffee machine, and a juicer. Excellent tea selection, including loose leaf with filters. A few minor issues: at night, water sounds were audible — possibly from a neighbor’s shower. Breakfast times were listed inconsistently (until 11:00 on one item, 10:30 in another), but in reality it ends at 10:30. Check-out is relatively early at 11:30. Could be longer.
