La Boca was a fantastic class. We were in Sucre for my girlfriend’s 30th birthday and I was trying organise a special day for her. On Tripadvisor it’s pretty limited in Sucre finding activities that aren’t museums.. however I came across La Boca and got in touch with Moi via WhatsApp. He was on holiday but was arriving back the day of the birthday. He intended on having the day off to settle back home, however to help me out, he did the class for us, and it was just us three which made it very personal.
Moi was very hospitable and welcoming. He took his time to explain the ingredients, the different types and why they are important in Bolivian cuisine as well as sharing a lot of personal information which was very interesting. Then between us three he divided responsibilities and prepared the traditional dish of Sopa de Mani. The class was extremely enjoyable and my girlfriend was super happy with that portion of the day. The soup was delicious and a huge portion! So much so that for dinner that night we had to share a main we were so full.
Moi delivered an amazing service but is also such a genuine person who goes above and beyond to share his passion of cooking. I highly recommend people get in touch for a class - there’s a reason he has an overwhelming 5...
Read moreWoooow what an incredible experience. Moises is an extremely intelligent chef who is clearly passionate about his culture and its cuisine. Moises was clear in his instruction, clean in the kitchen, and informative about the local ingredients and eating lifestyle. We prepared a three course meal plus a local cocktail! We started with a Bolivian style “brunch” (appetizer in America) next we had an entre, and lastly a fresh fruit parfait since there is no dessert culture in Bolivia. Everything was super fresh (I joined him at the market to purchase the ingredients that very morning! Only because I am currently living at his bed and breakfast as well) and delicious. 100% would recommend his bed and breakfast in addition to the cooking class! Support the local economy and learn while...
Read moreI had an amazing evening learning about the traditional Bolivian ingredients and culinary practices while cooking sopa Di Mani(peanut soup), a Bolivian hot sauce, a 10am breakfast potato salad and last but not the least a punchy cocktail using singani. The class was delivered in English and made very engaging testing our culinary skills too with the fine shopping and manual crushing for the hot sauce in a traditional stone pestle. It was absolutely delightful to get stuck in like this. I would highly recommend doing this when in Sucre with Moises, who is a very knowledgeable cook. He also gave me lots of tips about what to eat and where to go in the city and connected me to a local artisan for another class I was looking for which was an...
