Hostal Imaynalla — Hotel in Municipio Sucre

Let me try and start with the positives... the hostel is well located close to the main square. The decor in the rooms is also modern and pleasant. Unfortunately that’s where it ends. ||||1) The noise. The rooms are located directly above the (public) bar on a mezzanine level. It is extremely noisy at night as the bar is either hosting events or playing loud music until late at night, the latest of which was 3am when we were due to catch an early flight the next morning. On this particular night it was actually the staff making the most noise until the early hours after customers had left. I write this review at 3:30am whilst still listening to the staff downstairs talking loudly and listening to music despite already having been spoken to. ||||2) The breakfast: Constantly having to ask for things as basic as cutlery and plates. The actual food wasn’t the worst we’ve had, but we were a little surprised that somewhere with a working restaurant on site would serve pre-made cold scrambled egg. ||||3) The misleading booking.com details. This place lists their rooms as having a terrace and city views. In reality you have access to the hostel’s shared roof terrace, which in the winter months is little more than an empty space with one bistro set. They also claim to have things like power sockets next to the bed. This certainly wasn’t the case in our room, I can’t vouch for the others. ||||4) the shower: the tray leaked so that the bathroom floor was a constant swimming pool||||To conclude, I would not stay here again even if you paid me. Unless I am mistaken, it is my understanding that the most basic function of a hostel is that you have somewhere to sleep (??). If this is also your comprehension of the word then...

This hostel is a joke. My friend and I arrived at 10pm and we had to wait 30 minutes to be let in by reception. We knocked, rang the bell, and called WhatsApp numbers. Unbelievable. If you book a hostel, I think one expects to be able to open the front door with the provided key or be home safely when one wishes

I recommend this hostel to NO ONE, if the front door is not accessible by patrons, then it is simply not a good system....

The bar on the roof top was by far the worst experience I have had in a bar. I show up in a group of 10 people. After I enter and bought an over priced drink the drugged up staff told me that I have to pay a cover charge. I have always payed a cover at the door. I was the only people from our group who payed.
