Sweet Home Cafe — Restaurant in Kamloops

It is SO rare to find indoor, kid-friendly spaces these days that aren't exorbitantly expensive. I was delighted to stumble upon Sweet Home Cafe and to find that the whole experience is catered toward parents and kids! The food was simple but delicious. Not only was the price incredibly reasonable, the service was also excellent; we were served our food as well as a plastic side plate and sippy cup of water for my son. Such a thoughtful touch!

The play area was sizeable and well stocked. Since my son is still under a year old I stayed with him, but I had a lovely chat with the young woman who was supervising and she was very sweet with my son. I also saw her cleaning toys while we were eating; it's always nice to see good cleaning practices being followed in kid's play spaces.

As some others have mentioned the cafe itself is a bit plain in terms of ambience, but I think most parents will easily overlook that considering everything...

My family was so pleased by this quirky little cafe. I love the model of having a supervised play area so adults can run errands or sit and relax in the cafe. I loved my refreshing tomato and cream cheese croissant sandwich with cucumbers, lettuce and sliced cheese. My husband really enjoyed the chicken quesadilla. The best thing we found was the kids "Favourite 6" where for a very affordable price our 5-year-old could choose from a wide selection of snacky items to build his own plate. After many days on the road and countless grilled cheese and French fry lunches, he was very satisfied with a platter of chocolate milk, edamame, Vienna sausage/hot dog cut into cute shapes, apple slices, pretzel sticks, and a chocolate chip cookie!

It was great to have a diverting play area for him while we adults planned the next leg of our journey. We will definitely be stopping here again the next time we pass...

First time visiting today and was so blown away. The staff/owners are all so friendly. They were so gentle and amazing with my son. It was my first time and we dont hang in these settings often so I spent alot of the time hovering and watching my son play in the supervised area but I felt like I could sit and let him play and take my eye off him for a few minutes here and there. It was so relaxing and the food and coffee was absolutely delicious. Amazing surprise definitely will be first on my list when planning a day out...
