I usually go to Pho Do Thi for Vietnamese food, but this time wanted to try somewhere new. I've noticed Pho Mi 99 whenever I visit Guru's or Marble Slab, so that's how I made my choice. This restaurant is pretty private, whereby the windows are quite covered so that it's difficult to take a see the inside, so when we stepped in I was really surprised as it was nicely decorated (compared to all the hole-in-the wall Vietnamese restaurants that I've seen. Also it was completely packed, and I was lucky to get the last table available. Once we sat down and immediately was given the menu, I noticed that the line of people by the entrance kept growing longer by the minute. It as boiling hot outside that day so the thought of getting the usual Pho was out of the question for me. I decided to risk it and order something different, which was the Vermicelli with grilled chicken. The service was very quick. We ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee, which was served in a way I've never seen before, whereby they gave a separate glass filled with ice and another glass with some condensed milk and a coffee drip over it. This made the coffee much more strong, which I feel was better. The food arrived in no time and was served with a side of sauce, which I assume was fish sauce, but not 100% sure. I cannot fully explain in writing how the first taste of the chicken made me feel. That first bite just left me speechless. The chicken was not only extremely juicy and tender, but also the flavour of the marinade/rub was just unbelievable. The chicken had a slight sweet and savoury taste, almost like a teriyaki flavour. The vermicelli noodles were perfectly cooked and not dry, as I assumed they would be without a broth. While eating this amazingness all I was thinking was that I want to eat this everyday. I am not sure if this dish is as delicious only at Pho Mi 9 or if all Vietnamese restaurants make it as great. I will be visiting other Vietnamese restaurants soon just to find out, but for now, based on my experience and the fact that there was such a big crowd and wait to get a table, makes Pho Mi 99 one great find in Sauga. If you want to eat at a place with a good ambiance and crowd, fair prices, and good and fast service then Pho Mi 99 (on Latimer road) is definitely the...
Read moreI usually come to this restaurant with my siblings for dinner and I was hoping I wouldn't come here again after what I had to experience. I don't know if this happens to any of you guys out there or if it's just only me whenever I'm there, but I had this short waitress lady with super super short hair and what happens is that everytime when my siblings and I finished our food, she would ask us to kind of help her pass all the empty bowls and plates JUST help her clean it up... like is she that lazy or something?? Like clean it up yourself! I'm sorry, but I just find that kind of wrong to ask her customers to do that for her. It's just wrong. That's just a BIG NO NO! If you're that lazy to clean it up yourself, wait till your customers are fully done and leave your restaurant, just don't be like that in front of your customers. I would've made that complaint to the owner right there after I had to experience that. I just don't appreciate her doing that at all. Maybe that only happens to me when I'm with my siblings because we go there all the time. I've gone to other Vietnamese restaurants and I've never experienced that... EVER! For food, I remember ordering a bowl of vermicelli with grilled meat and spring rolls and lettuce, which was delicious by the way. The only thing I'm upset about is how much amount of shredded lettuce I got which was A LOT of shredded lettuce and less vermicelli noodle they gave me. I wish they could just add a lot more of the vermicelli noodle and LESS shredded lettuce because the Vermicelli noodle is the STAR of that dish, not the shredded lettuce! So I wish they could at least think about that. I'm not gonna pay for that if you give so much shredded lettuce and less vermicelli noodle in the end. Overall, I'm just giving this restaurant a 3 star, only because the foods there are good, but the service (especially with that short waitress lady) is not that great after what I experienced....
Read moreHORRIBLE service, was charged for something I did NOT eat due to the fact that I ordered the wrong dish. I was told I had to pay for my mistake- the gentlemen I spoke with explained how it costs them money to prepare the dish and If i don't pay for it they loose money... most disgusting way to treat a customer just because they made a mistake. I've been to PLENTY Pho Restaurants and this by far one of the WORST I have ever been to. anyways I was so frustrated that i dropped the argument and asked for the correct dish that i wanted to eat. Mid way eating my dish I find a DISGUSTING piece of hair ( which I'm sure they are known for having hair in their food anyways) I show the same gentlemen ( who told me i had to pay for a dish I ordered by mistake) he looks at my chopsticks and pulls out the piece of hair.. as if I'm not already disgusted enough.... He apologizes and brings me a new dish... I could not finish the dish due to the fact that I had a hair in my previous one and was so turned off at this point. It was now time to pay for this horrible meal, the woman at the cash register told me she would give me a discount for the dish i ordered in error.... which was nice but I shouldn't be paying for this meal anyways after finding a hair in my soup... so I shrugged it off and paid then left in a horrible mood. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone- I have let everyone ( family, friends, coworkers) I know that comes here to visit a different location in Mississauga. horrible staff, horrible food,...
