Lousiest Service, average food, over rated place.
I went there with a friend at a non-busy time on a week day (at around 9:30 PM). Most of the tables were either vacant or people were leaving after their dinner.
Someone came and dropped 2 menus for us and left. We took some time to decide and called the server, a gentleman came to take the order. We ordered Lahori Fish as an appetizer and Gawal Mandi Chana Daal Karahi & KBoys Chicken Karahi with a Family Naan. He asked if we wanted something else, we requested for a Raita and 2 cold drinks (Diet Coke & Sprite). He took the order on the iPad and left. It was around 9:35 PM.
A server came and left 2 water glasses on our table and left, but no water. We waited that someone will bring the water, but no one came. The fish was served after 15 minutes of placing our order. It was sea bass (5 pieces, very small portion for the price - check the images I've posted) fried in regular batter and spices, nothing extra ordinary. They left the sizzler dish on our table and left, we were waiting for the cutlery but no one thought people need cutlery too. So we asked the server, she brought us only 2 forks, so I asked, we need table knives too, she looked at me like I asked for something extra-ordinary, but went and brought us the knives anyway. No one brought the Raita that we'd ordered. We ate the appetizer and awaited the main course.
Now till this point, no one cared to leave a water bottle at our table despite requesting the servers repeatedly for it. Finally someone brought us the water bottle after asking for the 4th or 5th time.
Then we kept waiting for another 15 - 20 mins for the main course to come. We eventually had the main course served at around 10:10 PM. Both the Karahi dishes we had ordered were not very warm and we could see that those were not made fresh. They left the Karahi and after another 5 mins we finally got the naan (bread). The taste of both the dishes was ordinary, nothing special about any of the items.
We had our food and asked for the bill. A server brought us the POS machine and left. We paid the bill and waited for another 5 mins and noticed, nobody came to even get the POS machine back neither from our table nor from the table next to us (while those clients had left much before), as if the staff was not bothered. If you're wondering, they're open till 12 AM as per the listing on Google Maps, so no, it wasn't their closing timings.
All in all, a very bad or rather worst experience. Definitely not recommend this place to anyone and will never ever go back again. This place has more hype than actual food quality & taste. 2 thumbs down for their lousy...
Read moreHeard a lot about this place and I had been itching to try it for awhile and today I finally did.
Let's start with the good: the ambience was spot on. Loved the colours and the gallery mirror wall and the funky light fixtures.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience walking in and that set the tone for our visit. As we were walking in, my husband opened the door for me but a man from behind barrelled past us and past the second door that I opened without as much as a sorry or an excuse me. We looked at him as he walked to the back of the store and into the kitchen. He was an employee of the restaurant and was extremely rude and disrespectful.
The service was lukewarm and so was the food. Not once a waiter smiled at us or made us feel welcome. Their attitudes told us that they wished they were anywhere but here. One waiter threw down the QR code for the menu without as much as a greeting. Another waiter took our menu and another delivered our food.
Despite their website's boast that all karhais are made fresh to order, that was not the case. First of all, none of the food was hot. That was sign number one. The food was all lukewarm, including the naan. I ordered a garlic naan, which cost around $4 but there was no garlic taste whatsoever. The naan was fluffy and tasted amazing but was it garlic? Nope.
We ordered 2 karhais: a kabob karhai and a chicken karhai. You'd think the gravy/masala would be different for the two dishes, but that was not the case. Other than the meat used, the masala was the EXACT same. That was sign number two of a pre-made gravy.
In addition, we asked for tap water for my husband and I and were informed that due to covid restrictions they no longer provided water. I'm sorry, WHAT? I've been dining out all throughout the pandemic and this was the first restaurant that I ever heard this from. Mind you this is not a Bamiyan style fast-casual restaurant where they call your number and you grab your food and drinks. This is a full service, sit down restaurant. I'm paying a premium price and you can't serve me water? This was just stupid and made no sense.
Lastly the prices were way too high for the quality and service we received. Definitely won't be going here again nor will I recommend it to...
Read moreBest Pakistani food ever. The restaurant opened in Ramazan of 2018 and since then has been doing very well. The owner is a sharp man who invites Pakistani celebrities to eat here for free and they promote the restaurant with free word of mouth advertisement. The restaurant ambiance is great with soft music playing on the background of restaurant guests. It's a small restaurant but always very busy, no matter it is a weekday or weekend. It usually takes an hour to get a seat and another to place an order and to get food and lastly the time it takes to eat. So usually it takes at least 3 hours to eat here, minus the time it takes to drive there. The food especially chicken and mutton karahi and BBQ Platter is amazing. When u visit try the three and u will not regret. Food takes longer to deliver as they make it fresh. Prices are reasonable. Food aroma and taste is amazing. Lighting is romantic while cutlery is stylish and the way they hang naan and fish is unique and amazing. Waiters and staff at the reception is very friendly and customer service Is very good. U got to see it yourself. I have been to many Pakistani and Indian restaurants but Karahi Boys is the best. It supercedes all. I have driven all the way from Maple near Wonderland to eat it and now believe me it has become a routine or probably I have become addicted to it, irresistanle temptation. At home i always miss the food and whenever i come, I make sure I pack it for the days ahead. I think I might not able to leave Karahi Boys until I have the take away in my hand. It's like been stuck without it. Their desserts are also very nice and u should try them as well. Their food is halal and the best. They also have fresh lemonade with black salt. Since the day I came to Karahi Boys I have left my old favourites like BBQ Tonight and Haweli. Now only KARAHI Boys. I don't know how come this has happened. I have never been to a restaurant of this level in Pakistani. Wish someone makes a restaurant like Karahi Boys...
