Claw City — Local services in Oakville

Some of the negative reviews claim the games here are rigged. Absolute nonsense. My 4-year-old walked out of there like a tiny, triumphant arcade queen with an armful of stuffies (photo proof attached because otherwise you’d think I was making this up).

Now, sure, she won most of them all by herself like a pint-sized claw machine prodigy. But the first time she played, the lovely staff member working there kindly repositioned the stuffy my daughter had her heart set on so it was easier to grab. I was silently thanking her as having just arrived and being my first time, I feared potential disappointment my daughter would feel if she wasn’t able to snag a stuffy.

Anyway, long story short: the games aren’t fixed. Unless you count being fixed in favor of adorable children who know what they want and have surprisingly good hand-eye...

Looks appealing, cool candy, but definitely rigged machines (with unlicensed merchandise).

I love going to claw machines and I've been to plenty in Toronto, Markham, and Hamilton. I entered here, excited to see what Oakville has to offer. Unfortunately, these machines are rigged (i.e., they loosen their grip) so you have a low chance of winning. After spending $20, I only got one wrinkly Kuromi plushy.

Again, since I am experienced with claw machines I know that many of them can either be of the rigged or the skilled variety (typically those involving skill include a double tap feature). Anyways, if you are in Oakville and you are okay with gambling then this place does give good vibes. However, the low probability of winning does make this place discouraging and can...

We have been waiting patiently for Claw City to open and we visited last night for the first time and we were not disappointed.

It is so beautiful inside - great for photos.

It was such a blast! We had the best time.

The machines are stocked with really fun and adorable prizes and they are actually obtainable. We have been to a lot of claw machine places and sometimes they are so hard that the kids leave frustrated. This was not the case here. Reasonably hard but obtainable.

And the snacks are so super fun and different - has a bodega vibe! Great unique drinks selection too.

And the staff were super friendly, welcoming and had a great high energy vibe.

The hours are great - what a great place to hang out and have fun!
