A couple months ago my sister and I wrote a review about our bad experience at this place. I recently went again by myself, because its the only place in the area with a nice atmosphere to study. From the get go, one of the baristas who's usually very nice took my order and even complimented the perfume I had on. When I went to sit, she asked to accompany me and talk. She asked if I was the one that left the bad review, which I said "yup that was me", and she told me it was a big misunderstanding from the manager and she literally asked me to remove it ASAP. I have never been so confused and seen this level of unprofessionalism. Who asks someone to remove a review? especially when the person who the review was about didn't even have the common decency to get up and apologize himself. I felt bad so I said yes, but when I went to the reviews I saw multiple other ones with similar experiences (specifically the manager who is so rude and idk how the hell he still has that place open). When I realized that, I didn't remove the original review. And I felt so weirded out I just got up and left, where the manager gave me the dirtiest look imaginable and I was so uncomfortable I made sure not to look at him. If you were a decent manager, you would've got up and said something yourself or even smile and apologized. Also learn from your mistakes, you need to be nicer and fix your attitude, cause I'm not the only one who noticed it:) Lastly, their drinks and food sucks, all they have going for them is the building. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone, idk how that manager is qualified. Fyi if you wanna know who the manager is its the guy who always sits in the booth in front of the cashier and gives everyone...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Figaro yesterday evening (Sunday). We saw that the main floor was fully occupied, so we attempted to head upstairs. There was a sign saying "private function upstairs from 11AM to 4PM", but since it was 5PM, we figured that it the upstairs was now open for customer seating. As I made my way to the stairs, the person I would assume to be the manager (a gentleman in a blazer and glasses) told me that the upstairs is "off limits" and that he was bringing down an extra table and chairs. I'm unsure of what the situation was at the cafe, but the manager was acting quite rudely to my wife and I. I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt, and made sure to say "thank you" on several occasions as he brought down the table and chairs, but not once did he acknowledge us or even bother to say "you're welcome". Once we got settled in, we each took a turn to go order our drinks. In both instances, the cashier was pleasant, but again the manager was giving off a rude tone to both of us. When our drinks were ready, he just put the drinks on the counter and walked away without acknowledging us once again.
This entire experience was quite shocking, as both of our previous visits to Figaro were pleasant. The reason I'm giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 is because they are the only coffee shop in downtown Oakville that is open past 6PM. If we do return, I'm hoping that our next visit is a different experience from what we went...
Read moreUnfortunately, apart from the nice decoration and seating, this place's coffee and pastries are the worst I have ever tried. I live in Ottawa, and we have Figaro Coffee House there, and I went multiple times. It wasn't the best but it was OK. This one is NOT OK. I ordered cappuccino and wanted to enjoy a relaxing decent seating but received the cappuccino in a paper cup which I extremely found cheap and the barista said that they are done washing dishes for the day so no glass mug for me. I mean, how rude, lazy, and unprofessional this barista was! What an excuse! In addition to this, as a starter, the cappuccino was the worst cappuccino I ever had with the most pathetic foam I ever had! It's the worst I ever had in my life! In addition, she only filled half the paper cup! This barista needs to be trained on how to make coffee and deal with customers from zero. I took the cup and went and saw a different person and complained to him. He (without saying a word) replaced my cappuccino and put it in a proper glass cup but without a saucer. I requested my cappuccino initially with soy milk. He re-made it with normal milk. He did not ask me or say anything. Which was strange. He then apologized, saying sorry about that. The cappuccino looked a bit better but tasted pretty much the same as before and with regular milk. We also bought a chocolate chip cookie. It was an average cookie. I strongly DO NOT...
