Gelato and product is fine but they don’t offer samples of flavors.

Staff is what you expect nothing to write home about they serve you, don’t go out of their way to talk to you or play with kids just give you what you want answer questions if asked.

What is Ridiculous is that they expect you to pay $6.20 per small cup which is an exorbitant price and they can’t let you have a small disposable spoons worth of a flavor sample to help you decide what to get. It’s not a cost thing they made blunder on scooping flavors and with no hesitation or issue threw they entire massive amount away, so don’t know what sort of weird thought process went into this policy (it’s not like there’s a school bus of kids lining up for flavor tasting and running out) but this alone is enough for me to not visit again.

A) the hygiene argument to me doesn’t hold much merit. If it’s the actual air contaminating the product then opening the display unit itself would do it so no more serving. If it’s the scooping action itself that compromises it would love to hear a rational. Hypothesis and evidence of why it is unhygienic, would be great to learn about this.

B) Your staff are there to do their job, they did their job and I acknowledged that. I did go at a time when there were literally 0 other customers for the entire duration so time of day doesn’t hold up again. I’ve heard other staff is better it was just the two girls on that day who were like that. My experience was with them hence my comment.

C) if I do return it is because you have good gelato. I gave it a 4/5 on food rating. Product is great. Experience is okay. Place could use a hand wash facility or wet wipes to wipe sticky hands when ice...

Reply to your reply: Thank you for your reply. I want to clarify a few points. The issue with samples has nothing to do with hygiene — it’s simply about not offering to sample twice with the same spoon. Many other ice cream places handle this easily with separate spoons, so that explanation doesn’t quite add up. As for the Chocolate Orange being a customer favourite, I understand tastes differ, but I honestly find that hard to believe based on how it tasted. I also want to point out the portion sizes. The scoops were noticeably small, and the cups you use have a false bottom, giving the impression of a larger serving when in reality it’s much less. This is just honest feedback from a paying customer hoping you’ll take it seriously. Thank you for listening.

Since it was so hot on these days, I decided to buy some Gelato and went to your shop on 312 Lakeshore Rd East in Oakville.You have a very good and big selection of Gelatos and they are the best I ever had. My favourites are Mango and Dark Chocolate. The Gelatos are all excellent and my wife and myself bought a few different flavours during our visits. We especially liked the Hazelnut, Mango, Dark Chocolate, Stracciatella and Pistachios. The store is new and very modern built and looks nice and clean. The employees are also very nice and great to deal with. On our visits we had the pleasure to get served from one of your excellent staff, I believe her name is Angela, and she was very courteous, polite and knowledgeable to deal with. No problems at all to buy some great Gelato and she asked us, if we are satisfied or if there is anything else she can do for us. I left the store always knowing, that I got served very well from a nice employee of your store. Keep up the good work and I would recommend this Gelato store anytime to my family...
