I was in a rush to a find souvenir item for a friend. He personal asked for a replica of the CN tower. I went to this store if they have the item i am looking for. In all fairness the store is quite nice. Then i found the item but I thought it was quite exoensive, it cost $24.95 for small model. Anyways i didn't have much time i decided to purchse it. After i left Eaton Center. I came across with a souvenir shop not far from the mall, selling the same item for half the price. I felt i was robbed. So i went back to the mall to return the item. The lady told me that they don't accept return. I asked het why. If i can return iPhone within 15 days, i don't see any reason why i can't return a souvenir item purchased less than 2 hours earlier. I am pretty sure that's illegal but i didn't argue. She told me i can exchange the value of the puchase for different item. Okay! So picked-up some Canadian maple treats. The value was a dollar fifty more expensive than my previous purchase, i know i have to pay the difference. The lady told me i can only pay the difference in cash. I was like "what the heck!" Why they made it so difficult to return or even exchange the item. So i took a different item with lesser value and she was very insistent that i should get a post card to compensate the difference. But i don't really need it. I said never it. I left the store losing few dollars but that's not the whole point. The reason why i am writing this review is not about the money. It's a matter of principle and to expose bad customer service/business practice.
I told the lady that according to the consumer protection act. If a business has no return policy. There should be a clear return and exchange policy notice posted at the counter to make customers aware, which they don't have. I hope this serve a warning to others! I will never go back to...
Read moreAwful experience. The only store selling t shirts, shown in piles, but you can't touch the t-shirts from the pile. The lady came to harass us and sell her mother to us (figuratively), a couple seconds in front of one of the things she sells and she comes and tries to sell it to you hard! Then we look at the t-shirts. What a mistake, we took one from the pile. We told her to stop harassing us, she kept going. She even came from the store's back with another shirt, took ours out of the baske, while we were holding it, to replace it with the one she took herself... Unbelievable. Would I have been alone, I would have dropped all my stuff and ran away. We still bought their stuff... of course too expensive. You can go to Chinatown for the same souvenirs at a portion of their price. Do...
Read moreVisiting from Denmark, we found ourselves at the Canadian Naturalist, as we wanted to get a few things to take home and had been recommended the shop.
We were met with a very sweet and helpful lady and got some delicious maple cookies and syrup, super cute magnets, tea towels, and honestly much more than we had planned to get (oops).
The shop is a beautiful "Canadian oasis" and has a large variety of everything your heart could possibly desire from delicious maple cookies and syrup to t-shirts, hoodies, dream catchers, bracelets, etc. etc.
What I especially appreciated was the quality of the items and the feeling of getting genuine Canadian products.
We already have a new trip to Canada in the calendar and will definitely come back to...
