I would higgly recommend Jingbao to any family that would like their children to learn Mandarin. My husband and I do not speak Mandarin and we are so happy that our children have this great opportunity to learn the language as at this age, it is easiest for them to pick it up. Our 6.5yo son started attending Jingbao when he was 3yo and we were impressed by how quickly he learned Mandarin. During the pandemic, his SK class switched to online and his teachers made the transition seamless and he continued to learn and maintain his Mandarin daily over the 18 months. During the summer he attended the super fun (his description) summer camp and had a blast seeing his teachers and meeting new friends! He looks forward to returning next summer. He has now graduated from the Jingbao program and he is doing semi private tutoring sessions online with a Toronto Mandarin School teacher twice a week. Seeing the success in our son learning Mandarin we started our daughter earlier at 2.5yo and she is loving it. She joined at an opportune time as the Don Mills site started their Montessori program and she is reaping the benefits of this learning style in Mandarin. She actually started during the pandemic and we are impressed with the safety precautions Jingbao has in place to keep everyone safe and healthy. She's only been attending Jingbao part time for a year but already she is fluent enough for her and her brother to have a secret language to speak to each other. They also take pride in teaching their parents some Mandarin from time to time. It is such a joy to hear them speak Mandarin (something we cannot teach at home) to one another and sing songs they learn together. Karen, the principal/supervisor at the Don Mills site is wonderful, very accomodating and has been so kind to our family. Over the years we have gotten to know some of the teachers, especially the ones who taught online and it's endearing to see how much they care for the children. My son and daughter have only but positive...
Read moreThis is the best daycare we have ever experienced! We visited many daycares before we decided to go for Jingbao. We even stayed in other daycares before switching to Jingbao. Every time when I took my kid to visit daycares, he cried. Jingbao is the only exception. He didn't cry and made himself comfortable during his visit so we know Jingbao is the one. After we join Jingbao, the principle Karen and the teachers are far greater than our expectation. Karen organize the daycare very well and she is very responsive to our inquiries. Karen and all the teachers keep thinking ways to help our kids grow and make the school better. They are caring and showing love to the kids so our kid really likes all the teachers. They communicate with us for all the matters which make us feel good knowing our kid is in good hands. They have so many activities at school as well because the teachers are so talented. Not to mention that keeping my kid in the bilingual environment is a tremendous bonus! We started at Jingbao right after the daycare reopened after the 1st wave of COVID. I have to say that they are better than 99.9% of school in Toronto. They managed it so well that we feel safe sending our kid to school. Teachers put in extra time and efforts to clean the school frequently to keep our kids safe. I will definitely send my kid back for their summer camp even after...
Read moreOur daughter has been at Jingbao North York for 3 years, and weâre going to miss her teachers and classmates so much when she starts her new school in September! Her teachers (Ms. Jackie, Ms. Manning, Ms. Cecilia, Ms. May, Ms. Claire, Ms. Wendy and more!) and Ms. Karen are amazing â so passionate and caring â and they always go all out for every occasion: Halloween, Chinese New Year, Christmas, graduation parties⌠you name it. The decorations, activities, and little performances are always such a treat.
She adores her teachers, and theyâve all been so gentle and patient with her. She loves it here so much that I often have to wait 15â30 minutes at pick-up because she wants to finish her activity or keep playing. They plan so many fun things â trips to the farm, Ripleyâs, special guests who teach music, bring in animals to meet, yoga, sport ball, make dumplings/sushi/salad and more!
The kids are all so well-behaved, cleaning up after themselves, and the teachers were a huge help with potty training when she was learning.
Weâre so thankful for everything theyâve done â itâs been such a warm, fun, and happy place to grow. We couldnât have asked for a better start to her early...
