What I assume was a staff member (as he had no discernible clothing) I encountered today acted completely hostile to my husband and I and accused us of stealing his bike. We walked up from the sidewalk behind the store entrance where there was no signs or indication that the bikes were off-limits. Since the entire bike rack was completely unlocked, and all the bikes looked the same, and we saw this man hop on one and start peddling away - we assumed they were rentable via the bikes, like Byrd scooters. My husband was sitting still on one of the bikes, maybe three feet away from the bike rack, trying to figure out how to rent them - looking for a QR code or something. Then the male staff member turns around and comes speeding around the corner towards us, screaming "that's not your bike, what the F--- are you doing?" My husband immediately got off the bike and began apologizing and we were trying to explain what happened. The man called us thieves and told us to go F ourselves multiple times, getting in my husband's face and ripping the bike from his hands as he was trying to return it to the rack. He continued to scream profanities at us as we were walking away from him. That man is hostile and potentially dangerous. I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone to support the business of a man who verbally attacks tourists without giving them a second to even process the situation. Here's a recommendation: maybe start with "Hey, those aren't scannable or free and are rentable inside." Instead of immediately yelling profanities and accusing a husband and wife of stealing a...
Read moreHighly recommended for buying skis retail in Whistler. If this shop has the skis you are looking for or even if you are just browsing for what's new from their brands, it would be folly not to pay them a visit. Staff is highly knowledgeable of their products (read: they ski them), their prices are beyond fair, they tend to have excellent stock and even when out can often get something from their warehouse or arrange pickup with the other Comor stores, and most telling, they stand behind the entire experience and ensure the customer is well taken cared for. I expect this from my local ski shop (or I'd go somewhere else) but seems like its often not typical in a tourist town and for a non-local customer (from Washington), so to me the level of service really stands out. I've bought four pairs of skis from Comor and been super pleased, even when things go wrong as they inevitably do. My son a warranty issue with a pair of Line skis. They made it simple and painless to work with Line to get them replaced in an absolutely ideal fashion. I had a sizing issue with a pair of skis they had already mounted; they arranged to get them replaced (at the Kitslano store which had stock when they were out) and even offered to remount at no charge. Great prices, great service. Can't ask for much more. Will keep coming back every time we're in Whistler...
Read moreOverall super disappointing experience. On Thursday I dropped off some skis to be mounted. The person serving me was quite rude and dismissive, which already made me feel like I should’ve taken them elsewhere. I rode the skis for the first time today, and both forward pressures were not set according to the indicator on the bindings. One of the forward pressures was so far from being set correctly (I doubt they even put the boot I left with them in there to test it) that my boot would not stay in as soon as any pressure was applied to the ski. I didn’t realise this until I was already too far from the lift to walk back up and adjust them myself. My ski came off 4 times just trying to ski down to the lift so that I could fix the binding. I am so grateful that the incompetence of the ski tech who mounted the skis didn’t result in an injury to myself or anyone else. Would suggest that if you want a job done safely and correctly, you...
