I stayed at Greystone #217, 1 bedroom with full kitchen. The bedroom had an extra bed which allowed four people (2 adults and two teenage children) to sleep comfortably. We liked the hardwood floors, very nice bathroom with granite countertop and the shower, and nice kitchen with granite countertop and with newer appliances and the dining table was nice size (not too small).
However, we were expecting central air conditioning because it was listed as having air conditioning. It turned out that it was a portable air conditioner and we were glad to have it because it was hot (high 80 degrees Farenheit) while we were staying there with the room facing the western side during the afternoon. We requested another fan and the fan that Blackcomb provided happened to not work at all (it wouldn't even turn on). Luckily, the company managing other rooms in the lodge allowed us to use their nice fan. The dishwasher didn't work either. It would turn on and then few minutes later, it would turn off. Also, the room was right above the pool and it was noisy with people using the pool after hours (from 10 pm - 8 am). I was awakened by two adults using the pool starting at 6 am in the morning. I later saw the phone number to call if there was noise and security issue and I wished I would have called. The wifi access was very intermittent and was very frustrating. Finally on the morning that we were leaving to go home, I unplugged the wifi router and replugged it which must have reset the wifi router. It worked beautifully all morning.
The kitchen, bathroom, and the bedroom were very nice but if we didn't experience these issues, I would have enjoyed my stay lot more and could have...
Read moreTraveled to Whistler in the summer with 4 others and it was a great time! The accommodations were perfect for a group of adults who all want a little bit of privacy. When you book you receive an email to a web portal where there is a ton of information about the condo and the surrounding area, including the door code you will need to get in and information about how to get into the garage. We stayed in Snowbird unit 304 and each bedroom had its own full bathroom and a television. Only the main floor double bed room had the bathroom detached from the bedroom. The kitchen was a good size for the condo and the table sat at least 6. The kitchen had a TON of cooking utensils, pots, pans and baking supplies. You probably won't need to bring much of anything in that respect if you plan on cooking. The bathrooms had a couple of small shampoos and hotel soap, but I would highly recommend bringing your own stuff. The only problem we ran into was that the fridge wasn't very cold, even when we played with the temperature gauge (and we were mostly cooking at the condo, so we did store a fair amount of food in there) and the stove was a little dated and wasn't particularly hot. We also used the common space BBQ which was very uneven and difficult to cook on, with some spots cooking very slowly and some way too hot. Because of those little quibbles with the appliances, I feel I can't give it a full five stars, but overall we were extremely happy with the accommodations, had a great time, and would go back and recommend this place to friends, with a note about the age/reliability of...
Read moreBlackcomb Peaks Accommodations booked our condo and lift tickets for us. We stayed in the Aspens in unit 258. The building and unit were very nice. Nice building lobby with fire place, in-house ski rental and separate meeting/hanging out room, very nice pool and 3 separate jacuzzis, free ski check at side entrance, ski-on/ski-off, plus across the street and one black away was the free shuttle service that goes around the mountain. The ski-on/ski-off is about 2 minutes ski time to the bottom of the bottom and easy to ski off coming down. There is no walking path down to the bottom though so you have to walk through pretty deep slush to get down without skiis. The location is on the Backcomb side vs. the Whistler side. Whistler is the main mountain with Gondola access and large and varied village. The Backcomb side is smaller but still has a main lodge, two lifts, separate still school and a small village with a few shops and grocery access. If I had it to do again, I would stay in Whistler, however you definitely get more for your money staying in Backcomb. Our condo was a 2-bedroom unit, super clean, basic kitchen. The best part about the unit was the large l-shaped couch in the living room and the bunk beds are both queen size. The management company was very helpful. We had a few minor hiccups in the beginning but they were very quickly and kindly resolved. The booking company was easy to get a hold of and flexible with changes etc....
